Never again...

Upon arriving at check in they said my room got cancelled stating my card did not go through. Yet upon running the same card voila..it worked! Yet.. now i get a room i did not request! Then the shower fluctuated with hit and cold water. Forgot to say..we were lucky to have a room due to a boat fair. Then bathroom had serious flaws. They did nothing to remedy their mistake. Even called reservations and corporate and they did nothing to solve it! Could not sleep and just not comfortable at all. Never again... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice but ...

Nice hotel and modern rooms BUT... - customers are noisy in hallways during night - breakfast: room, tables and chairs not very clean, I was obliged to pay cash directly to the staff instead of charging on my room number, the breakfast is not so good, it is better to take it outside - valet service: car damaged during the weekend, the valet tried to add a remark on the ticket given to me when I arrived, mentioning that the damage was already there when I arrived , finally as I insist, the valet filed a written complaint but no one acted and when I contacted the hotel by e-mail, they told that they were not aware of any issue and no longer had my contact detail in my system. For the price better to put his car in the parking, there is one in the same street 100 meters from the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not as good as it should have been

We stayed for 4 nights at the Chateau Lemoyne. There was nothing terribly wrong with the hotel, but for the price, there are better options in the French Quarter. On the plus side, the staff was all helpful and friendly (though the armed guard looked a bit menacing). The location was good, but not great. It's nice to be away from the noise of Bourbon Street, but Dauphine St, where the hotel is located, lacks charm and can feel a bit dicey for a woman walking alone after dark (even at 7 PM, not enough foot traffic around to feel safe.) It's close to Canal St., which is run down with a number of questionable looking people (despite the presence of the Ritz Carlton.) Bottom line, you have to walk several blocks to get to any part of the French Quarter with real charm to it. The hotel is in need of some refreshing. I stayed on the 5th floor, and the carpet was very faded. The paint in the bathroom was peeling, The shower was terrible -- continuously cycling between cold and scaldingly hot water -- there was no way to adjust to a comfortable temperature. The wallpaper in the bathroom was just plain creepy -- kaleidoscope photo of a naked person with her head sticking out of a picture frame. The walls were thin, and every night I was awakened by people talking in the hallway. I was very disappointed to learn that the windows in the room don't open. The hotel is rated 3.5 stars, but I don't think it lives up to that standard. The hotel's tripadvisor description mentions room service, restaurant, and bar/lounge, but the hotel didn't have any of these. They do offer an expensive breakfast, but they don't have a restaurant or room service, and if they had a bar, I couldn't find it. Lastly, I the hotel doesn't live up to what I expect from a Holiday Inn. In addition to expecting dining facilities in the hotel, I also expect Holiday Inn to have a guest laundry -- until this trip, I don't think I've ever stayed at a Holiday Inn that didn't have laundry facilities for the guests to use. My understanding is that they can send your laundry out, but I assume that's quite pricey, and not as quick as I'd want it to be. While the bed was not terrible, it was not as comfortable as it could have been -- pillows too flat, and the comforter kept sliding off the bed. All in all, I was a bit disappointed with my stay. I expect to return to New Orleans in the future, but I don't see any reason why I would choose this hotel, when there are so many other similarly priced choices which are in a better location, better maintained, and offering better amenities. Well located and comfortable

We arrived late and were checked in quickly. The room was comfortable and clean. The hotel was close to good restaurants. It was quite quiet in spite of being just a block from Bourbon St. The staff is friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location in the French Quarter

We attended our son and daughter-in-law's wedding here. Front desk and concierge gave us wonderful service. We could walk to everything in the French Quarter.There's a nice sitting area in the lobby where you can watch the world go by or meet up with friends and family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
