Completely renovated hotel

Apr 23rd, 2020

We come to NOLA every September and always stay this classy quiet hotel in the French Quarter. Why? Recently renovated, this place has a beautiful center court saltwater pool.Close to great shopping and restaurants you really dont need a car to get around.Suzanne at California Drawstring is a wonderful example of kindness of the locals. Great Trip to NOLA

Apr 18th, 2020

My son and I went to NOLA for a few days just to explore. We had a fantastic time. The hotel is nice and clean, friendly staff from he valet to the front desk. My son loved the pool area as did I. The charm of old and new meshed together was phenomenal and the hotel is in a perfect spot to tour, eat, etc. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Service

Apr 10th, 2020

I took my husband here on a surprise trip for his 40th birthday in February, right before Covid-19 hit. We had an amazing time. The concierge started helping me well before we arrived. I wanted to make dining reservations early as we were arriving on Valentines day. Alan did an amazing job of suggestion restaurants and tours. He booked our dining for us. His suggestions did not disappoint. The hotel itself was clean and nice. The location is walking distance to just about all the major sites. I highly recommend! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dishonest. Bad. Avoid at all costs

Mar 26th, 2020

My wife and I used to stay at this hotel every year. Primarily due to its location. We have had bad stays in the past. But the one this year ends our relationship with this horribly dishonest establishment permanently. Booked and paid for our room 3 months in advance. Arrived late due to flight delay. I called ahead of time and advised front desk we would be late. We were given a room that looked out at a brick wall. Not across a street. 2 feet outside the window! I am a top tier Spire Elite IHG member. I went to ask for a new room. I was told there was not even one room available. I put aside my anger as to why they wouldn’t have saved a better room for a Spire Elite member and went to do what one does in New Orleans, have a nice cocktail. While imbibing I pulled up the hotel website on my phone. Huh? Rooms available!!! I booked one and went back to the front desk. “I would like the new room I just booked please”. The front desk clerk vanished for an extended period of time then returned with “our website is wrong”. “No rooms available and no manager on duty tonight”. What???!!! The next morning I spoke to the manager who said rooms were available and very reluctantly moved us to a different room. It wasn’t much better and not nearly as good as previous years. Definitely NOT what we paid for. The manager offered no apologies of any kind Since the remainder of our stay were weeknights we asked if there would be a better room available then. She didn’t even check. Just flatly responded no. I asked if the hotel was having website problems and was told no. So somebody is lying. I expect all of them were. We are done with this dump. There are a lot of good hotels in New Orleans. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. If you prefer to stay with IHG hotels like we do try the Crown Plaza nearby. That’s what we will do from now on. Look for my review on this hotel. See you there! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location, Location!

Great value for your buck! We stayed in the 2 queen bed remodeled room and I was pleasantly surprised at how much space there was. There was plenty of room for up to 4 people to have suitcases if need be. Cleanliness was fantastic and all services at the hotel were fast and efficient. Every staff member I spoke with was helpful with anything we needed. I saw a lot of reviews say this isn't what they expected out of a Holiday Inn. I thought this hotel was great! It's unique, holds the old character of the French Quarter and it's literally 1 block from Bourbon Street. I highly recommend this hotel. I did not use the pool but I had a pool view from the room and it looked very nice and inviting. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
