7 night stay

Jan 17th, 2020

The most pleasant staff and stay of any hotel facility we've been at, EVER! It is very obvious that the staff are treated well because they are very pleasant and treat their guests with courtesy and respect. Our stay was not by choice, but because of plumbing issues at a family home that we were supposed to stay at. Not only did we enjoy coming back to the hotel each day, we looked forward to going to the lounge and restaurant to unwind. We had several dinners there and KUDOS to the chef! Delicious meals! We ate the Cobb salad, several hamburgers, and the salmon. Believe it or not, breakfast for a $1.00. YES ONE DOLLAR!!! My favorite were the fresh muffins, carrot ones and fresh cranberry ones. Totally yummy. Definitely a comfortable home away from home. We will stay here again. BRAVO management and staff....KUDOS to the chef! Thank you to all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect stop

Jan 3rd, 2020

We stopped at the Holiday Inn in Orange Park because it was on route to our more southern Florida destination. The location is very convenient, easy offloading, easy parking. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, with complementary beverages, a lovely bonus after a quick check-in. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast options were plentiful, something for everyone; with a very friendly and efficient server. We enjoyed our stay and will stop at the same hotel next time we’re on route south. Would not return to this one!

Nov 12th, 2019

The hotel was in the process of being renovated when I was there so it was a bit of a mess, but that was not a major issue for me. The sheets in the room, though they appeared to be clean, had a very odd smell, one that permeated my sleepwear and also my hair, and stayed with me through out the day. Not sure what it was, maybe the water? Detergent? Whatever it was, it was not pleasant. After the first night I went and bought linen spray to try and mask the smell, but it didn't really work. The first night I was there a group of about 10 motorcyclists came to check in about 11:30 PM or so. They all parked under the porte cochere which was just under my room. Each revved up their engines a few times and then left them idling while they checked in, periodically coming back out to rev them up again. Imagine that noise in an enclosed area, I at first thought it was a hellacious thunderstorm right over head! After about 45 minutes of this I called the front desk to ask if they he could please ask them once they were all checked in if they could all proceed to park at the same time to minimize the noise since I had an early morning the next day and was trying to sleep. I assumed they were going to park around back and I figured that way there would only be one loud roar rather than a dozen or more throughout the next hour. I was told by the desk clerk, who I believe (not positive) was named Michael, that he could not do that as they were "guests." I just hung up, put earplugs in and my stinky pillow over my head and tried to sleep. It went on for an hour or more. They never did drive away as they parked them all under the porte cochere overnight. I understand that they were guests and they happened to be on motorcycles, but there were other guests there as well who were trying to sleep in rooms they paid for just for that reason, to sleep. The way the desk clerk handled this was very poor in my opinion and I will not stay at this hotel again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent place to stay, nothing special

Oct 26th, 2019

I stayed at this Holiday Inn while on a business trip from October 21-23. The hotel is decent, but nothing special. It is currently undergoing much needed renovations. These renovations did not disturb us while we were there. The room I had was a queen double room and had not yet been renovated. The bed was comfortable. This hotel does have a full bar which was nice for an evening drink. The hotel does have a breakfast buffet and it was decent to start your day. For some odd reason they charge $1.00 for the breakfast when other hotels provide it for free. Why not charge a dollar more for the room and make it free? All in all, I would say I would stay there again in a pinch if needed, but would prefer a better hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
