The overall stay was good the rooms were clean and comfortable. Only suggestions would be to add a microwave to rooms.....have better parking setup...you currently have to pay per night for parking. And the fitness center could be way better. Also during the stay only one elevator worked. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I'm not sure which portions have been "remodeled" as per the description, but certainly not the rooms! The carpet was pretty old, the wall paper peeling, stained furniture. We stayed for 5 nights and one of the elevators was broken the entire time, a fairly big inconvenience during check-in and out times. Although the option of room service was mentioned in their website and at check-in, there was no room service to speak of, just an answering machine. There was no security to speak of, the card reader in the elevator was not functioning and there was no security at night. We were also told that there would be a shuttle service to the conference we were attending, which was sparse at best. We were given the option of a 6am or a 9:30am shuttle, not ideal. On the positive side, the staff were fairly friendly and the Vue restaurant did in fact have a lovely view. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Limited breakfast, crappy bar but a nice view. We were told there was no shuttle service to the cruise terminal and guess what there was! Our friend's room had the toilet back up into the shower, they were not moved but were given keys to another room to shower. Crazy! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This property is very convenient to to LGB, but that's where the positives end. My check-in experience was not a warm as it usually is at an IHG property. The clerk: 1) was cordial, at best; 2) forgot my guest parking pass; 3) did not greet me as an IHG Rewards Club member and failed to review amenities for Club members; and 4) did not offer me any sort of Welcome Amenity, etc. The other Front Desk staff reviewed everything with their guests while mine just gave me my keys, basically. The parking reserved for Club members is not enforced; and there is very limited parking at this property, as well, making the situation worse. Nothing was mentioned, nor any effort made to move me away from the noise caused by the construction of the adjacent IHG property that would begin at 7:15 am!! The rooms, lobby, and lounge areas were always clean and tidy. The Manager's Reception for business partners was a welcomed stress reliever after a less than spectacular welcome. The beds were surprisingly uncomfortable for an IHG property. I had a backache every morning! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just an opinion- Check in staff was very helpful and friendly. Had to change rooms because the window was broken and wouldn’t close, making the street noise uncomfortably loud. The new room was on a lower floor and the window closed properly. It I had to turn on the air conditioner to drown out the near-by loud freeway noise. I would never choose to stay here again for that reason. It’s terribly positioned with traffic on all sides of the hotel. The windows are old, small, and high up, and don’t allow to good illumination. Kind of prison like. The rooms I visited were old and needed upgrading. The hallways smelled dank. The place ran out of bottled water but was replenished after a few hours. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
