Its ok

Apr 18th, 2019

Stayed there a few nights on a business trip, a conference at the Peabody hotel across the street. The people who work there were reasonably friendly, but far from speedy. Most seemed to rather be anywhere else. The servers in the hotel restaurant were the worst of the lot, definitely they were happy that I just wanted the buffet, that way I would get my own food so they didn't have to do much. The hotel looked like it was recently redecorated, but in a slap-dash kind of way, like they went out to IKEA, or Hotel Depot and grabbed whatever was on sale and put it up. On the plus side, the whole hotel looked clean, aside from the huge smear on my window. I don't know for sure but it seemed like they purposely staggered the occupancy, I only had neighbors 1 night, which was good because you definitely can hear through the walls. The best thing is location, it's an easy walk to Downtown, Autozone park, Beale St., etc. I guess the worst thing to me is not really the Holiday inn's fault, it's just that after spending each day at the Conference in the Peabody, which is a gorgeous grand old hotel, a Rolls Royce of a place, it was hard going back to the Ford across the street each night. Great location, but not a great facility--especially for the price

Apr 15th, 2019

Our family stayed here for a couple nights in the spring of 2019. The location is excellent, our room had a great view of the Peabody Hotel across the street. But the fixtures in the bathroom were loose and coming apart, the wallpaper in the bath was peeling. Carpet was stained, hallways kinda dingy. Normally we are not fussy, but this was quite an expensive room. A number of reviews here on TripAdvisor make similar points, so I do not think our experience was unique. But all the staff we interacted with were super-friendly. No complaints there! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect stay

We were meeting a group from Kansas for a short business meeting. Holiday Inn downtown was a great choice. Nearby BBQ and entertainment was great. Everyone was friendly and courteous, and the accommodations were clean. Will definitely recommend HI to my friends and acquaintances. Thanks for making our trip enjoyable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Okay Hotel, Need to Work on Some Things

Mar 27th, 2019

We chose this hotel due to its proximity to the downtown area and the price. Check In was great; kind valet and lady at front desk. Room was rather small and there was no refrigerator or microwave but the room was clean. Great shower!! The ice machine on our floor was broken so we had to get ice on another level. These were minor things I could handle, but I was extremely disappointed when we left about 9:30am then returned at 6:30 pm and our room had not been touched! I called the front desk and I barely had the words out of my mouth before the person on the line said, “We’ll have someone there right away.” I’m thinking to myself, “Why wasn’t someone here before I called?!” Don’t know if I would recommend this place. The reviews were kind of hit and miss but I thought we’d give it a try to see for ourselves. Not cleaning the room until being called by the patron is definitely a game changer for me. An OK Place to Stay...

Mar 22nd, 2019

The location of this Holiday Inn is good being just two blocks from Beale Street, but the lock fell off the door to our room and it took awhile to get it fixed, there weren’t any towels in the room, we weren’t close to our friends who were with us and the room was really noisy by the elevator.
