First, let me say I tried to complete my review directly with Holiday Inn. Because it was a negative review they declined to post and gave me a lame excuse. I changed the wording and resubmitted it only to be denied again for a different description I used. I was again denied. It appears to me a pattern of making it so difficult to submit a negative review that you give up, which I did after my third attempt to submit was again rejected. I will not stay with them again. The front desk staff was not able to answer my questions about an event being held at their hotel. They also refused my request to change my room and the hotel was not full. They had no bellman service and I am a senior citizen. There also was a problem with the cleanliness in the bathroom. I will be generic here as this caused my multiple rejections. If you are looking for a classy, clean, new hotel this hotel is not for you. My room was old. The carpet was stained. Holiday inn needs to renovate ASAP f all the rooms look like this. I should have paid the money and stayed downtown. This is my 35th bday and I planned a quick girls getaway trip. This is room was not what I expected. The tub was clean but old. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was staying here for a conference at the University of Memphis. The hotel is most convenient for the University but not for anything else around town. I use to live here so I know the area well. The hotel rooms are suite design and are spacious. The rooms are clean but the carpet is in bad need of replacement. I had the breakfast buffet one morning. Pretty standard. After the conference I stopped at the bar for a drink. Bottom line is that the bar appears to be something of an afterthought. They had no draft beers (I think that is a University rule). I ordered a white wine. The bartender placed a ridiculously small pour in front of me as he threw the bottle away and informed me that they were out. He still managed to charge me fill price which was a bit high even with a proper pour. Several issues. The wine was awful. Next, there was very little traffic and it was early in the evening so why wasn’t there a stock search to catch the shortage. Third, there is a decent restaurant affiliated with the bar and hotel. There is no excuse for serving such cheap horrible wine out of magnum bottles at such an establishment. In spite of the weather being awful I took an Uber off site for the rest of the night. So if you have business at UM this would be a good place to stay. Otherwise look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not worth the price...

This was a 20 minute drive from downtown and was still $150+ a night. That doesn’t sound bad until you have to move rooms twice for various reasons including broken air conditioner. One male staff member was exceptionally rude about us needing to getting back in our previous room to get something we forgot. Our room wasn’t cleaned daily which wouldn’t be bad but they acted like asking for a couple extra towels was a crime. I will say we talked to the manager of guest services and she was extremely nice and did help tremendously. My suggestion would be to go elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We rented two rooms to visit Memphis for a Grizzlies game. I thought a fair rate given comps. Rooms were clean, spacious. Staff was excellent. I figure a lot can go wrong with two rooms, but nothing did. Parking was easy, it's located in east Memphis on the University campus, easy access to rest of city. Highly recommended.
