Letter I sent to the Manager!
Apr 30th, 2020
Dear Mr. Percy During these weeks and or months of social distancing it is easy to become “nostalgic” for times when “travel restrictions” as we know them today, were not even a concept. During these days I’ve become nostalgic of the excellent service and care I received at The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center. Without being a previous guest - under my advice, I stayed with a group of friends in your hotel from February 19 to 25. Our group really wanted to experience the true historic and gastronomic Memphis while also remaining close to Graceland and staying in your hotel actually enhanced our vacation experience. Your front desk person, Miss Gwendolyn, was really kind and knowledgeable advising our group of local attractions such as: where to find the real traditional “soul food”, musical events and where to get the best fried chicken which, as you know, in Memphis is a competitive market, LOL. Her recommendations for Kountry Cookin and Gus’s (downtown for a real Memphis experience ) were spot on. Also, being upgraded to a much nicer room by your Sales Manager, Tamekia, was greatly appreciated by me and my group. not to be found in all Holiday Inn Hotels. I have already decided to return to The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center, hopefully late in the month May when travel restrictions will be hopefully lessen and things go back to our “new normal”. In general our group and I, we had a wonderful time, and I have recommended The Holiday Inn Memphis Airport - Conf Center to all of our colleagues, friends and family. I have also written this review in Tripadvisor , Expedia & in HOTELS.COM where Im a GoldMember. Also I sent a copy of this letter to the Holiday Inn central offices. People should know when great hospitality is being done. Please give my best to all your employees and keep safe during this Covid19 restriction period. Thank you again for such outstanding service. Sincerely, Kelvin TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not all that for a Holiday Inn

The lady on the 800 number suggested this place, she did not tell me no breakfast unless you pay extra, needless to say that irritated me ( being a rewards member). The place needs an upgrade, The sheets were worn out, there was a spot on the blanket, the water ran constant in bathtub. The AC was high up so my husband had to climb a chair to cool it off in the room. I did get my breakfast after finagling on the 800 number with Johnathan (JJ thank you) and Lilly at front desk was helpful and friendly (she is the night auditor) The first lady was not friendly just handed me my key. What a terrible hotel. The location is near the airport; however, it is also in a very sketchy area. Security walking around with earbuds in their ears, glad I didn't have to call for help. Front Desk lady terribly rude; huffing as she was bothered to address me. Not even going to get into the condition of the room I was in - yes, it's that bad. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is our second stay here and primarily the reason is the shuttle service to Graceland. We are reward members. First of all it is crazy to complain about airport noise at an AIRPORT hotel. Also, outside of having a huge security staff, you can't make kids stop being noisy. Our weekend was filled with little beauty queens and their crazy parents everywhere. There were not enough luggage racks so you had to wait. The staff overall was good. The BEST staff member is the driver who wears a black hat, did not get his name, but we adore him. Mary in housekeeping is great too. Worst issue: we have a service dog and its is MILES to a door outside, even thou we asked for aroom we had to end up taking one too far away b/c our room wasn't ready at 430 pm and we had to be dressed and at our even by 630 pm. We also request a handicapped room. Our shower was so unsafe in our room!!!! The tub was 'dug out' in the bottom in order to drain!!! And only one grab bar far in the back. Our sink didn't drain and our toilet stopped up. Remote didn't work, bulbs missing from lamps, view was of the back dumpster, and in room telephone didn't work. They did fix the remote, toilet and phone but WHY??? When you go in these things should be right!! Best thing: the linens are top notch. Pillows are amazing and beds are super comfy. Air was cool. I hope these things can be fixed in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

First off this is in one of the worst parts of Memphis, there are sketchy people all over the hotel since there is no security and doesn’t require a room key to get in. The hotel is horrible, makes you feel dirty just being in there. When we checked in we were told they only had king beds left (we reserved a double) and no roll aways- myself and my husband were there with our two children- that was instantly a problem- I accepted the room figuring we could make it for one night and change the next day. We get to our room and I can’t describe to you how horrid is was- tiny, smelly, dirty, ants on the walls!! We went down stairs checked out and headed to the Marriott even though the event we were in town for was being held at the Holiday Inn. I can’t stress this enough- stay ANYWHERE else!!!
