My true bottom line about this hotel is that it is NOT doing what it should be doing in order to keep its guests safe from COVID-19 during this time of a national pandemic. To the proprietors of this particular Holiday Inn hotel and to the franchise/chain in general, I simply say SHAME ON YOU! During our stay, we encountered five separate employees of the hotel. Only one of them (the person who was working the front desk at the time of our check-out) was wearing a face mask to protect herself and hotel guests. 1 out of 5 is UNACCEPTABLE. The man who was at the front desk at the time of check-in wore his mask as a chin strap. When we came downstairs an hour or so later, a different person was at the front desk and, again, wore the mask as a chin strap instead of as a facial covering. We also crossed paths with one person from housekeeping (mask worn around her neck) and one seemingly from maintenance (walking around the hotel floor with her mask off, until she saw us wearing ours, at which time she pulled hers up). Additionally, the hotel is NOT requiring guests to wear masks inside of the common areas of the hotel. As a result, a few did (perhaps 1/3) and most (about 2/3) did not do so. This lack of enforcement of proper safety measures undoes the signage about maintaining proper social distancing and the presence of the hand sanitizers that the hotel, to its credit, has installed. Had a good night stay. Really like the set up with a separate living room. Furniture a little stained. Friendly reception. A bit of way out from town and other retail. But seems nicer than other hotels in town. Great if you’re visiting Shenandoah National Park . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Beautiful Hotel But has a Bug Problem

The hotel was lovely, the scenery and views were beautiful, and staff was pleasant. Unfortunately, our room had bedbugs (in both beds) and I was bitten several times. I provided the front desk attendant with a video of the first crawling bug (the bug that bit me). Then I caught another bug in the bed where my son slept and gave it to the front desk attendant. My room was comped but the staff was not apologetic. This experience really put a damper on our trip. We left and reserved a room at a different hotel for the remainder of our trip. :( I still have a 3 marks on my neck and shoulder where the bug bit me. I was there Sept 4, 2020. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location and clean

This hotel is conveniently located about 1 mile away from a shopping area (that has everything from a Lowe's, Walmart, and restaurants). It was clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. My only concern was the coffee station in the morning... there were no single use items or protection from others touching things. You also need to know there is no maid service (which is expected) but we were not told how to get items needed from the room. (We ran out of tissue and tp in the middle of the night - not used to having to watch for supplies when we travel so that's kinda on me. The front desk quickly replenished our supply when I went to ask about it.) I would stay there again - nice place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not Serious about COVID-19

We traveled for a weekend and noticed upon entering many guests in the lobby with no masks talking. Then looked over and saw 3 clerks behind the counter all with no mask at all or under the chin. Then the clerk that checked us in put hers on over just her mouth and not nose. The next day the clerk behind the counter had absolutely no mask and when talking with her she didn't even attempt to put one on. Also ran into 3 different janitorial staff and one had a mask on under her chin and the other 2 had no masks at all. We asked one for more coffee and she didn't put one on to give it to us when physically handing it to us. Looks like the mentally about masks here is whatever. Other than that the motel is a nice place and clean. If you don't care about masks yourself you will fit right in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
