Very friendly and competent team. Were there on four evenings during our Villach visit. The drinks are fancy and mixed at the highest level. The atmosphere is cozy and nice. The mojitos was one of the best I've ever drunk. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Holiday Inn Villach is the best Holiday Inn we have tried so far all around Europe! It has a 5 star quality with no execption! Rooms are very nicely decorated, super clean and comfortable, stuff is very friendly and ready to help with all your questions but the best is the breath taking view of city! If you happen to visit the city, you should definetly stay at this jewel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed one night at this hotel, the check-in was fast and the room clean and nice, as showed on pictures provided by the hotel. We enjoyed our stay here and would come back if we visit Villach any time in the future and I would recommend it to anyone. The check-in personnel was nice and helpful, providing us all the information we needed and asked for. The only downside was the bathroom which didn’t offer much privacy, since it has walls of glass, and we could see each other’s shapes through them. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Positive and negative!

We booked for one night get away at this hotel, mainly based on good hotel reviews. Staff where excellent, from front desk to dining room. The location is excellent, close to city center, cafes, river walk, and churches. Executive room was nice, good shower, quiet. Good underground parking at 8.50 € per day. We have some suggestions re comfort, from our perspective pillows are very soft and small. We should have requested two more pillows, but did not, as it was late. Our biggest concern was the temperature of the room! It was hot! We informed the front desk and they explained it was an air cooling system not air conditioning, and they could supply a fan! We booked this hotel because we read that the hotel had air conditioning. The web site was “Guest Reservations”, it clearly states you have air conditioning. I brought this webpage up when I was accessing the IHG webpage, and thought it was a Holiday Inn website. When I realized it was not the Holiday Inn Webpage I just changed to the correct webpage and made my booking with Holiday Inn, making the assumption that you had air conditioning, based on the information I had read! We had very little sleep!! We tried opening the window, which then shuts down the fan system in the room, but we hoped for some cool air. There where parties going on at bars located outside our window, and also the very high humidity encouraged us to shut the window and return to the air cooling system, which was completely inadequate for the high temperature, and humidity. If I had known there was no air conditioning we definitely would not have booked. I booked on the Holiday Inn website because if there are any issues to be discussed I find the hotel staff are more likely to listen to your point of view when you book on their website. One issue I addressed was that of breakfast inclusive in the price. After some investigation I found Expedia had a better price for room and breakfast than Holiday in has, in the computer. I think if I phoned Holiday Inn Villach I could have negotiated a better price than the 18 Euros per person that I was quoted upon check in. Tell me how does one know all these tricks of the trade? We did not eat breakfast at the hotel, but chose a lovely little cafe close by, and had a good breakfast for a much more reasonable price. If I was managing a hotel I would rather give the customer a reasonable price breakfast and keep their business. I have been a long standing Priority Club member. In the past couple of years have limited my travel, but a few years ago did a lot of business with your hotel chain, particularly Intercontinental Hotels. The front desk clerk did offer us an upgrade on our NEXT booking with your hotel. Unfortunately, this doesn’t really make things better at this time. I do hope you decide to upgrade your air conditioning system, as the summers are getting hotter. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
