Super cute Botique hotel, free beer, free Viennese breakfast!

Jul 20th, 2019

A couple of minutes walk to St Stephens Cathedral, this hotel’s orange awning leads you into a building then you find the entrance to the bright and well decorated main lobby. Very efficiently laid out, with welcome boards near your room, the staff is all very friendly and spoke perfect English. Between 2-5pm daily there’s a free beer, tea, and sandwich offering which was adorable (self serve). Staff helped us book a old car tour through the city- and allowed a late check out until 2 as the room wasn’t booked. We had the Beletage XL room which had a free standing bathtub with rain shower off the side of the room. I loved this, it was a nice relaxing addition after a day of walking! Room was a nice size, very clean with comfortable furniture and fun pillows and blankets on the couches. My favorite part of this hotel was the breakfast! White tablecloths, beautifully set quaint tables. Fresh juice of the day served to you along with a board of delicate meats cheeses and fruit and a bread basket. Daily specials included an egg dish of the day, and some type of “dessert” like waffles with homemade applesauce. Crepes were a staple, which we enjoyed daily with homemade jams. Welcomed with a friendly hello and nice music, the chef and his waitstaff were eager to ensure you had a pleasant breakfast. I’d return for this alone! Fun things to find during your stay are the game boards, outdoor patio with seats and blankets, and the movie room! I’m encouraged to check out the other boutique Beletage hotels in other cities... highly recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Small Size, Big Surprise.

Jul 17th, 2019

Cleanliness: 5 stars. My only complaint, however, is that the main lobby area of the building leading to the small entryway of the hotel (separated by another door with its own lobby), is not particularly inviting and can benefit from a makeover (cleaning, painting, etc.). When we first walked into the building we thought “oh-oh!” as if we were about to be disappointed (although I’m not sure that the hotel has any control over this since it appears to be operated by another entity). The rest of the hotel meets my standards. Comfort: 3.5 stars. The room layout, while providing the necessities and efficiently making use of every space, takes a little getting used to since the washroom is directly behind the headboard and the shower provides no privacy. See pics. The hotel offers a few areas, including a outside terrace, to relax and enjoy the facility. There’s also a happy hour where snacks and beer are self-served. Service and staff: 5 stars. Wonderful people, from the receptionist to kitchen personnel, played a significant role in making this a friendly and welcoming experience. Kudos to your staff! Location: 3.5 stars. About a 6 minute walk to the St. Stephen's Cathedral and shopping. Good options for food within walking distance as well. Other: 5 stars. Breakfast, which is my favorite meal and important to get me started for the day, was fabulous, with eggs to order, a variety of breads and freshly made juices, fruits and vegetables, cereals, local coffee, and many more options. If you love breakfast, this place is for you. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Vienna

Jul 16th, 2019

The hotel was a little bit hard to find, but was worth the hunt. It’s a small boutique hotel with excellent staff, and delicious breakfast and couldn’t have been more centrally located in the historic area of Vienna. Ours was a large well designed room with all the amenities. The staff was particularly helpful. I’d recommend this to anyone who didn’t want the large impersonal hotel experience in beautiful Vienna. Loved this place

Wonderful food and staff. Breakfast is included and the chief prepared a special each morning that was exceptional. Easy walking to most sites. The subway station and ferry dock is very close by for excursions further afield. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A Tale of Two Halves

Jul 9th, 2019

Very convenient location but first impressions poor. The hotel is situated in a multi use building and the entrance looks grubby and the paint is peeling. Our room was a bit dark, room 9, and the bathroom was tired. Twin bed frames looked scruffy. Our initial contact with staff was friendly enough but they didn't show us round and we were left to discover quirky things on offer for ourselves. Finally staff are not on duty 24/7 which caused us concern. What if there was a fire or we lost a key or needed helping some other way. Never explained. The greeting of clients when they first arrive needs some work in terms of staff training.!! However the beds turned out to be very comfortable despite the scruffy frames, linen and towels were spotless, breakfasts were excellent and the staff eventually made sure our every wish or whim was catered for. They couldn't have been more helpful. My overall rating is down to the breakfasts and the lovely staff. I'd return simply for these reasons. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
