Front desk service; Neicy was very friendly a people person; she gave great advice on restaurants in the area;EXCELLENT

It was ok , room was very cuzzy , amenities was ok, I guess because of Covid we had grab bags for breakfast ; but was looking forward for a hot breakfast as told , I think at least do room service breakfast would be nice , but overall everything was good otherwise, will definitely stay again when visit the area TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice visit - thumbs up!

We stayed in a 2 bed 2 bath suite. I would say it met expectations without fanfare. Of course, no housekeeping for towels or trash removal during COVID but the front desk was friendly and quick to act upon request. Parking in adjacent lot was $25 a day but can be found for cheaper. The Poydras side was a bit traffic noisy. There are also lots of crows around to help keep you up at night...no fault of the hotel. The hotel location is great. Not too close to the crowds but close enough to walk to the riverfront or Bourbon St within 5-10 min. Hope you have Neicy at the front desk. She is a ray of sunshine and goes out of her way to help with a smile. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

HUGE potential

The location is excellent, just far enough away from Bourbon Street (which is a 10 minute walk away), but still easy walking distance to the Superdome (15 minute walk) or the WW2 Museum (15 minute walk). The neighborhood was fairly clean and safe, but did not have a huge amount of restaurants nearby, but there is a Jimmy John's and Daisy Mae's cafe across the street. The staff we encountered were exceptionally helpful, the ladies at the front desk great, especially Rebecca. Where it goes wrong is the rooms, they are VERY worn and run down. Couch and chairs stained and sagging/uncomfortable. Carpet with mystery crusty white stains, ceilings heavily stained. Beds were comfortable and everything was fairly clean. We had recurring electrical problems with our room, the GFI switch in the bathroom kept tripping for no reason, it would happen overnight or while we were out and lightswitches wouldn't work randomly. Outlets also did not work and the lamps with the outlets did not work either. If they ever plan on remodeling, this hotel would be the place I recommend while in New Orleans, until then, not so much. COVID related experience: They are not doing the evening reception due to Covid (understandable) and for breakfast they hand out a small bag that had a pre-packaged muffin an apple and a Nutri-grain bar. That's it! For those that cannot eat gluten or who cannot eat that amount of sugar, you are out of luck. For the life of me I don't understand why some hotels do this other than its a cost saving measure and an easy way to "cover" breakfast. We've traveled a couple times since the start of Covid, and experienced hotels that have still managed to have a safe hot breakfast with employees serving the food and you take it back to your room. If hotels want to stay in business or earn what little tourist travel business there is, they need to rethink their approach. Masks were worn by staff and most other travelers while in the lobby and hand sanitizer was available. The rooms had stickers on things like light switch and tv remotes saying it was sanitized. Okay... Dated and Not as Clean

We arrived to this hotel and ciricled the place twice before finding out it was a hotel. They need some signs to let guests know where it's located. Then after figuring out where the hotel was and attempting to check-in, we couldn't enter the hotel because it was locked down due to protests and no signs indicating to ring a bell or knock. We had to wait in the misting rain for someone to come out before being able to enter. I had requested a digital key, but the room was still being cleaned and I couldn't use my digital key to enter the hotel. Upon arrival to the hotel, the front desk agent, "Director of Sales" was pleasant and very helpful and apologized for the inconvenience. Moved us to a different room. We checked into the room "604". It was decent looking and it was a suite. Bathroom was outdated and could use some updates. The toilet looked very dirty with a black residue stuck on it. Housekeeping had already left for the day when I alerted the front desk. Check-out the following morning was easy and a breeze. Here's my issue: After arriving home to Dallas, my mom realizes she forgot her iPAD at the hotel. We called the hotel and was directed to leave a message with housekeeping to see if they found it. We have left numerous messages since checking-out and NO ONE has RETURNED our call. The iPAD has already been reported as stolen and the serial number given to Apple so if someone tries to activate they'll be out of luck. This is unacceptable practices to not return a customers phone call regarding a missing item. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent stay with the family

We had a great stay at Homewood Suites while we were visiting during Spring break. We like to stay in a hotel that’s not too close to the French Quarter, but close enough that we can walk to all the restaurants and bars. The hotel staff was very nice, the breakfast was great, and the room was super huge and spacious. We got a two bedroom two bathroom suite, which allowed us to stay as a big family together in one room. I definitely recommend this hotel, if you don’t mind walking about 10 to 15 minutes towards Bourbon Street and all the other attractions. It’s nice and quiet compared to the hotels near Canal street. We will definitely stay here again next time! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
