At first the rooms looks very nice and roomy...until you see ROACHES! Adult Roaches, Baby Roaches, Roach Eggs (that weren't there the day before) NASTY NASTY NASTY NASTY Cob webs in corners of the room, dirt and dead roach under the bed, dead roach beside refrigerator, under the bed and beside the refrigerator looks like it hasn't been thoroughly cleaned in years It took hours to go through all of our stuff to make sure we weren't bringing any nasty guests home with us...and when staff knocked on the door I told them they didn't seem to be concerned or shocked we had the issue...I even heard the manager over the walkie talkie making fun of us for staying over our check out time because we haven't left yet. Why didn't we leave on time? because it took hours to sift through EVERYTHING that was in our room. I have stayed at several Hilton Properties and others, and this is by far the worst stay we have ever had in my entire life of traveling. SO NASTY! I am just hoping we didn't bring any roaches home with us. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This place is definitely not up to Hilton standards. I understand all is crazy with covid 19. We checked in to find out toilet not working. We were told they would send someone. 45 mins later still no one. With three kids. My husband went down to the front only to have housekeeping send us a plunger to “fix” it ourselves. This is unacceptable. I am posting pictures of the plunger we received. (Not sure why like this. We don’t want to know). And the stains on the couch. This is the quality of this hotel. From check in to departure the entire staff was friendly and helpful, I happened to have checked in during a worldwide pandemic and the staff could not have been more professional. The room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable, housekeeping was thorough, couldn’t be better.. I travel often for business and use many hotels across the country; Homewood was chosen because of its location and positive reviews, it was a very good decision; I enjoyed the peace and quiet I needed to conduct business and the very high quality offered in the facilities of your hotel made that possible. Every staff member with whom I came in contact was attentive and knowledgeable of hotel amenities and local points of interest during a very difficult time. Although the staff followed all safety regulations of the time, it was done with a very human touch that I appreciated. I would like to give a heartfelt thanks to Lamar, Zalander, Marylyn, Greg, Althea and others un-named who were particularly helpful in making sure my original stay and multiple extensions went smoothly. I just wanted to let you know how much I valued that effort. This is only the second time for me staying at a Homewood Suites, looking forward to a return trip. Not the worst hotel

The only reason that my husband and I have to keep staying here is because the hotel is in easy walking distance to his parents' home. I'll begin with the good things about the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and do everything they can to accommodate a guest's needs, once they're informed of issues. The hotel itself is in a good location, with stores and restaurants around, and is easy to get to. Visually, the hotel exterior and interior are pleasant. The courtyard has a pool and patio area with bbq grills, which I have never used, but they look nice. The rooms are generally spacious and comfortable, and I've always gotten the 2 queen bed, 1 bedroom with a kitchen types. Now for the areas that the hotel is lacking: Twice now, when I've arrived and go into my room, it's not what I consider to be clean. I'm not even talking about the torn curtains or general wear and updating needs, which there are many. I'm talking about sticky floors, bathrooms not totally clean and stocked, and sheets that have most obviously not been changed in between guests. This is the only hotel where I have to spend an hour cleaning the room after I check in; Thankfully, there is a Target in walking distance, so I can get towels, soap and a mop. The staff is gracious about it. They apologize and housekeeping returns to try to clean the room further, but I would still like it to have been done before I checked in. They just got new mattresses, after we stayed there, so I don't know what those are like. One of the things I really liked about this hotel was that they had 6-sided encasements on the mattresses, which helps with allergies. I hope they put them on the new mattresses. Room 104 was extremely noisy, but since it was a room for hearing-impaired people, it makes sense to put it there. Room 425 was a better, quieter location. The hotel gives a free breakfast and an evening social with free beer and wine. It's not one of the most impressive breakfasts I've had and the food, to me, is barely edible. Neither of us drink beer or wine, so that part is lost on us. The coffee at Homewood Suites (not just this one, but all that I've stayed at) is the worst coffee I've ever had; It tastes so horrible that I bring instant freeze-dried coffee to make for myself. Even with all that, we'll most likely stay there again when we visit his parents, simply because it's so close to them and the hotel is not too bad after I've cleaned our room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location and amenities near by

Have visited this hotel a number of times. The location is near the beach and shopping. Numerous restaurants in Mt.Pleasant and Charleston..all the local ones are very fine. Having visited this hotel numerous times I have watched it beginning to wear out. Nothing is wrong with the property, it just looks tired. The staff makes up for the needed upgrading. Very fine, helpful and customer focused. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
