Overall stay was very pleasant. Clean environment, friendly staff, enjoyable local. I recommend not staying on the first floor due to the road noise. Hallways need better signage for amenities and lobby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The location and stay at the hotel was excellent; however, during checkin the process was complicated because the hotel key cards to our room were not activated properly and we had to talk with the attendant downstairs twice to get our key cards to finally work. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The hotel was good, the breakfasts (included) was very good. The happy hour was excellent. The hotel is under renovation and I accidentally took the elevator to the 1st floor from the wrong side of the building. when I arrived on the fist floor, it looked strange, but it took me about 15 minutes to realize that I was in an area, not yet intended for guests. The elevator should have been marked and some signs to let me know to not enter would have been quite helpful. The room rates at most hotels in Charlotte are very high with my room being over $175 per night with room and taxes. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Nice enough property, missed the mark on some things

Some background: I travel for work frequently and always stay in suite hotels, so think I have a good sense of what is standard. I also try to tip well for housekeeping and special requests I make. Here's what's driving my review: Pros: - The grocery run and delivery I requested was spot-on (thanks, Miriam K!) - The bed and sheets were super-comfortable - Staff were generally attentive and friendly, common areas/breakfast/evening reception were clean and stocked - Dry-cleaning service was speedy and complete Cons: - The fitness center was under construction. I understand that construction has to happen sometime. However, the option to use the one at the Embassy Suites across the street was not an acceptable. It is also a large hotel with many guests and some of the machines were not working. You would think knowing that the fitness center would be over-subscribed for 2+ weeks would result in slightly more regular maintenance. This felt like a bait-and-switch as I had specifically selected a hotel with a fitness center and could have easily made another choice had I known in advance this would not be the case. There was no reduction in the price or additional Hilton Honors points awarded for the inconvenience. - My room was not always entirely cleaned; many small objects remained on the floor, the dishwasher was not always run or unloaded, and once my dirty towels were removed without being replaced. - Like many long-term business travelers at suite hotels in the age of Amazon Prime and frozen meal services, I had several packages delivered to the hotel. Unfortunately, some of them were delivered and stored off-site and not easily accessible when I asked for them at the front desk. - Only one small luggage cart was available at the front desk when I checked out. The hotel is huge and clearly had both business travelers and families. - The parking lot is not big enough to accommodate all guests at this and the 2+ hotels sharing the same parking lot. Had to change rooms due to multiple issues, involving the curtains being broken and not able to close all the way, a broken ironing board, a defective iron which burnt a hole in my blouse (which I have ironed numerous times before), issue with the shower not draining and 4 inches of standing water in a shower, being next to the elevator and hearing every time someone got on and off and when the elevator moved, the extra pillows in the closest being stained, etc. I went to the front desk and asked to speak with the manager, who was apparently off duty at the time, asked for them to contact me when they were on duty. I received a response from the housekeeping manager, who awarded me 5000 points (not enough for the issues I had to deal with), and a bag of chips, candy, and a very small bottle of wine. I asked the front desk again repeatedly for somebody from management, a general manager, to contact me regarding the issues for my stay. I was able to move rooms, which was a hassle because I was staying there for 11 days and had a lot of luggage, which was inconvenient. The management did not value my opinions or issues. Would not recommend staying here or the management. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
