Clean and Comfortable

Unfortunately with Covid, all hotels have restrictions. However, Homewood Suites did have w a “grab-and-go” breakfast in the AM, and a pool and fitness center with limited capacity (Other similar hotels in the area I looked at did not have these things). The suite I had was spacious and comfortable. It included a stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher. Everyone wore masks and social distanced themselves. The only suggestion I have is to have more than one person at the front desk. I had a hard time getting in touch with them by phone that morning. And there was only one person at the front desk, who was on the phone, while I waited to check in. I should’ve been able to check in using the digital key Because I have the Hilton app, but for whatever reason I couldn’t. Great stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Covid World

Have stayed here numerous times for business. Fairly clean hotel. Some rooms smell like cigarettes but this time my room was fine. However the cleaning and cooking staff were going into rooms without masks and walking around building. As a physician I’m concerned about potential exposures. You can clean all you want. But the lack of masks defeat the purpose. And for the cook. No mask is a disgrace TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

had 3 bugs

was supposed to stay here 2 nights pool and tv was great but room wasnt cleaned properly had 3 bugs in my bed and i would think that due to covid that they wouldve cleaned it properly never had this before wont be coming back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointing

This was one of the most disappointing Hilton stays I've ever been to. I usually praise Hiltons for the neat, clean and tidy rooms and their friendliness from most staff but this trip was a bit of disappointment with the amount of points i used being a Gold Member. The first room I was assigned ended up having bed bugs, before ever settling in, I always pull the sheets to see if theres stains or hair or bugs and this 1st room I was originally assigned had bed bugs, on this stay i took pictures and a small video clip of the bed bug I found in clear plain sight. I took my duffel bag n clothes n put them in the living room right away to prevent possibly taking them home with me. I rang for the front desk n no one answered n had to physically go downstairs to the front desk to address the situation. I understand that staffing would be light due to this whole covid pandemic. The front desk lady was very helpful n nice and tried to accommodate me as best as possible n proceeded to tell me there were no more similar rooms n only smaller which I said that seems impossible as there didnt seem to be many guests staying due to how empty the parking lot was and then she found me a bigger room which I did appreciate. Once i packed up all my belongings I went to the new room and first thing I did was pull the sheets n pillows to check again and it seemed ok n clear. This room however was a little bit disappointing as 2 out of the 3 tv remotes either had dead batteries and the remotes were in the wrong tv rooms which i had to test out as I had this happen in another Hilton as well. The bathroom wasnt cleaned properly as there were pee stains on the ground, and the sink had stains on it too that I wiped up to set my belongings there. The next morning I was disappointed to see there was no available coffee which I understood eventually to try n limit the risk for covid but just overall disappointed in this stay as normally amenities are always accessible during normal circumstances but the cleanliness n bugs were def unacceptable to me. Id give this place a try again in the future once this covid pandemic gets clear as I do go fishing nearby when traveling from 2 3 hrs way to spend a night afterwards. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean place, good location, some problems

This is a clean, no-frills destination. The rooms and the hotel itself are clean, and the location is well-situated to the NJ beach (although the front desk could recommend anything else to do in the area!). Staff were polite, and many but not all wore masks (although there were signs everyone requiring them - this is consistent with the behavior throughout the area). The pool was closed, pending a state inspection of some sort, and a grab-and-go breakfast (of inconsistent variety) replaced a continental breakfast, presumably due to COVID restrictions. There was also only two days a week of housekeeping (although we only found this out on our last day). The one major hassle was on our last night, when we got a mysterious note under the door that the hot water was going to be shut off the following day. The first front-desk worker I asked didn't know anything about this, but the next one assured me that only the hot water would be shut off. When we came back from the beach, however, we were frustrated to learn that *all* the water in our room had been shut off. The cheerful front desk suggested that we use the public bathroom in the nearby Sheraton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
