Pleasant stay

Sep 9th, 2020

When I commute from Orange County/Los Angeles, it usually takes me approximately 2 hours. My last trip (last week) took almost 4 hours. By the time I got there, with the blistering desert oven heat of 115 degrees, I wasn't in the best mood. I'd like to acknowledge 2 of the staff. First, I was greeted by the Monica, the front desk staff. She was warm welcoming with a friendly attitude. Very nice customer service. The other person that I’d like to let everyone know is Anthony. I believe he's one of the managers. This guy is one of the most easy going friendly down to earth manager that I've encountered. I've been to this hotel quite often and he, as well as the others that work there kind of makes you feel as though you're at home. If something is wrong with the room, Anthony will make it right. I travel 4 days per week; when I come out to the desert, I thought of using the Residence Inn Marriott, but why change when the team at Homewood Suites Hilton helps my travel be pleasant. Ryan is also another staff there that should be recognized for excellent customer service. Drew K TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Staff and Manager are rude

Sep 1st, 2020

Found dishes and silverware with food particles on them in the cupboard, no Hairdryer n the room. Requested a late check out, was told NO. Called front desk 3 different times and they never answered. Called on Cell asked for manager and he was as curt as the front desk staff. Would never stay at this property again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

2 night stay

Aug 18th, 2020

Front Desk staff was not friendly at all, she seemed perturbed by us checking in and also it seemed one of the managers were surprised to see us as he wasn't wearing facial covering. I was not thanked for being an honors member, wasn't offered complimentary bottled water, I had to ask for it. Her response was "Yeah, Go Ahead" like I was bothering her. When a hotel decides to take away amenities ie. Pool & Complimentary breakfast, at the least you could offer is bottled water to a Gold member no less, especially when it's 115 degrees outside. As we walked around to locate our room, the hallways were dirty, like it hadn't been vacuumed for quite some time. Trash cans were overflowing in the soda & ice machine area. The furniture in the room were pretty dated. The second day was pretty unreal as the room next to us had a lady screaming for help. Knocking on the conjoining door to our room, begging us to let her in. We could hear a man yelling at the lady. Police were called and finally showed up. According to what we could hear is that the gentleman didn't have identification and a declined credit card. How does this happen? The police were talking to the gentleman like they knew him and eventually asked them to leave the property. Unreal and won't return to this property ever again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed in

Aug 15th, 2020

Upon entry there was a gross smell, smelled like food. No clean smell covering the food or anything...just gross musty food smell. I brushed it off and we moved our stuff in. Then I saw some yucky looking stuff on the table which made me take a closer look at everything. The phone (high touch area that is supposed to be sanitized) has sticky juice or something on it, along with the dresser it was on. The kitchenette had cooked on food on the countertop, grease all over the cook top, cabinets had splashes of stuff that hadn’t been wiped off so I would assume he handles on the cabinet hadn’t been sanitized either. I called from my cell phone since the room phone was nasty and I don’t want COVID, to ask for sanitation wipes so I could clean it myself and have peace of mind. The kind front desk guy brought me some but they were dry, he’s young and probably doesn’t really know better. I wet them and started cleaning. It was absolutely repulsive how dirty ALL of the surfaces were. This place hasn’t been properly cleaned in a LONG time. I cleaned the floors also since I took a look at those and noticed there was no way they were mopped. Again, front desk guy sent you some towels and I got MY OWN sanitizing spray and floor cleaner. The towels were filthy! We stay at Hilton properties all the time, and are usually very happy with the cleanliness. This place is not well cared for in general, scuffs all over the walls, stained carpet, dirty elevator etc. And this place definitely isn’t being cleaned up to COVID standards. If I get covid I blame this place for sure. I’m Not fancy, I’ve stayed in super 8 and motel 6 but I’ve never experienced a more poorly cleaned hotel before. The only bright side is The kind front desk associate, Ryan. And that the hotel offered a full refund for all nights we were supposed to stay here. But now we have to make a late night move to another hotel with 3 young kids. Hilton management needs to get on this place, this is not Hilton standards. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I’m not insensitive to the plight of hotels today ... but ...

Jun 17th, 2020

Yes, times are terrible for hotels right now. Yes, summer is low season for the Coachella Valley ... but jeez ... Only ONE employee on the property in the evening. Literally one, he had to run back and forth between the front desk and the laundry area and anything else that needed tending to. This is either extreme cheapness or desperation. We picked this hotel because it was dog friendly. And for what it’s worth, it was reasonably clean. But I’m not sure how not offering the brand-standard breakfast is saving me from COVID. Anyway, fine, the dinner we picked up at Sherman’s (a Palm Springs favorite) was more than ample for two meals. But I’m avoiding hotels which have eliminated everything in the name of COVID. I may try again at a later date. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
