Midvale hotel help makes ski trip successful

Jan 26th, 2020

If you are skiing, its a good location. Property has a hot tub that is clean and hot. There are a handful of ski shops around if you need help with that sort of thing. There are lots of eating/dining/grocery store options around. Not much fine dining though. The room is comfy. The included kitchen is minimum. No stove exhaust fan, so careful cooking in room. Great Place to Stay While Sking UT

Jan 12th, 2020

I love this hotel. For the money you pay and have a breakfast and dinner included is fantastic. The dinner is Monday thru Thursday only, and it's not much of a dinner, but good enough. The room was very clean, and I felt very much at home. The beds are comfortable, and I slept great!! I stayed for a full week, and room service was excellent. I will stay here on my next ski trip as long as the price stays competitive. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Basic hotel, close to ski areas.

Hilton is not putting any money into capital improvements for their older properties which is a shame. I stay at a lot of Homewood suites for the kitchen for my daughter with severe food allergies. So many of them are very outdated and almost downright gross. My overall stay: 1. Reservation made months in advance for an eight night stay. My Hilton Honors Gold preferences always state upper floor away from elevators. Also called hotel to remind I wanted an upper floor away from noise. Placed me on FIRST floor right off lobby, by elevator. Had to move to a different room type than I reserved. 2. Stove top- on LOWEST setting burned my food everyday. I cook at least twice a day in the room and it was a pain in the neck dealing with this. 3. Put DO NOT DISTURB sign on door everyday for eight days. Housekeeper entered room at least four days and tidied up room and moved stuff around. 4. Most Homewood suites are so outdated. The room looked tired and such as step down from our hotel in Las Vegas. They look 25+ years old in terms of styling. Need to do some updates! 5. Front desk staff neglected to post to my room notes late checkout by only 1 hour even though i requested it the night before (it was approved by Vanessa). Housekeeping then showed up early. 6. Could use some Gluten Free options for breakfast and evening social. My daughter can never eat anything! From that perspective we don't get the same value as other guests. 7. Front desk staff was pretty good about following up on my requests for restocking room items. 8. Did not use hot tub or pool, but saw others using it without complaints. 9. Good location for using ski buses to resorts. 10. Not too many restaurants we could eat at nearby. 11. Trader Joe's not too far, but we don't go there as they don't have a lot of allergy free foods. 12. Whole Foods within 5 miles. Overall, I would probably stay again just because it was close to the ski resorts, but Homewood Suites are kind of dumpy if you care about that. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We've been staying here for over 10 years. We will not be back.

Jan 1st, 2020

- toilets clogged nearly every day (at least they knew where the plunger was when I asked to do it myself) - had to ask for towels, wash cloths, soap, etc. I thought for sure they would bring them, but not even after the 4th day?! - Rather than changing the water in the hot tub they just added more chlorine. It bleached my daughters swimsuit, damaged her hair and nearly ruined my contacts by just being in the room. - "evening reception" was a joke. Monday the manager said he was going to see if he could find some wine. The story was the same on Thursday. He never found it. The soup was gross (leftover from several days previous), the "italian medallions" were greasy meatballs on a cheap roll. (His family wouldn't even eat it, they went in the back for something else.) - The 'new' beds were so cheap and firm I actually could not walk the third day. I stayed in the hotel while my family skiied. They did offer us a foam topper and a additional cover and were quite friendly in trying to help me feel better. - We purchased two rooms. The thermostat could be lowered in the one but not the other. We had to intermittently leave the window open to cool it down. Even maintenance did not know why it could not be fixed. - The bathroom floors and tub should be cleaned better. There should not be layers of yuck accumulating anywhere. Since I could not use the hot tub for my back and I had a hard time convincing myself to use the tub, leaving that place was the best medicine for my health. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
