one day visit to Montreal

Feb 11th, 2020

I travel with friends annually for the past 10 years to Val David to x-country skiing. On the return trip back to the US we stop for a day and evening in Montreal. For the past teo years 7 of us have stayed at the lovely, historic hotel. The rooms are early 20th century decor, clean & comfortable beds. Staff are young, friendly and eager to help. Hope to stay again in 2021. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location. Cute ambiance

Feb 7th, 2020

Came twice in 2 weeks because of the value and location. Very simply rooms, no frills, but cute decor. Very Victorian meets hipster chic. I’m fairly easy to please so I had no complaints. My second stay was a MUCH cuter room. It had a little fireplace (no heat) and faced the street with an updated bathroom. It was room 221 if you want to request it. Great front room for working and a lovely little dining area with bench seating. I didn’t partake in breakfast since it was cheaper to just hit up timmies 1 block down. 2 blocks from St.Catherines shopping street and 10 minute walk to the Eaton Center. Photos are screen shots from a video so not the best but gives you an idea of room 221. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming and elegant hotel & café!

Jan 21st, 2020

My partner and I booked a room here last minute and we couldn’t be happier with our choice. Check-in was smooth and the staff were always ready to help and very friendly. Our room was beautiful with a high ceiling and gorgeous view of the street. The building makes you feel like you have stepped back in time to when it was built, but with modern appliances and amenities. The bed was so comfortable and we were happy to see the efforts to be environmentally conscious with eco-friendly toilet paper/tissues and shampoo/conditioner/soap dispensers instead of single-use containers. The hotel lobby is also a cozy café with the most delicious food and coffee. Try the avocado toast and gravlax bagel! We will definitely be coming back in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not worth the hassle

Dec 25th, 2019

Good location but that was about it. We were persuaded to upgrade to a better room by some nice pictures but the actual room looked nothing like the picture. The room was way overheated, the bathroom was old and wobbly and we could hear every noise above. There were no kettle or tea point in the room. But worst is the check in staff who was overwhelmed and incompetent with no real adult supervision on site. They took some random amount on my credit card snd no one could explain why. Clean hotel in an excellent area close to saint Catherine street and bell center.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff here was really good we arrived early and our room wasn't ready so they stored our suitcase for the day likewise when we were departing they done the same because our flight wasn't out until late. The only downside to this hotel was no minifridge in the room but they did offer ice which was good. There is a little cafe inside the hotel we didn't eat there but it looked really good. The location of this hotel was excellent as well close to nice restaurants, shopping, bars and the bell center. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again forsure. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
