Pleasant upper west side gem

Feb 15th, 2020

I have been to New York City many times and stayed in all kinds of hotels. Many were luxurious and more centrally located. This trip I had to visit my daughter and take care of her as she was ill. Her apartment is less than 20 blocks away from the hotel Belleclaire. From the moment I entered the hotel I was greeted warmly. The room was small but very tidy and quiet. The bathroom was nicely renovated. The price was definitely right and included a $20 value at the cafe Mille Feuille in the lobby. It was a lovely experience and I shall definitely visit again. Great location, nice room, good service when needed. Close to every place you can imagine. Metro station 2 blocks away. Placed on Broadway. A lot of small bistros around and nice small cafe that serves fresh bakery on site. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Location, Great Price, Friendly Staff

Feb 5th, 2020

I originally booked through expedia but happened to call the hotel a few weeks before my stay to ask a few questions and during the course of the phone call was told of a much better deal by booking directly through the hotel. The room was spacious for NYC. The location was perfect very near a subway line and near Central Park and many restaurants. The staff were very friendly and we loved the bakery. It was a great stay and we would stay again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not the cleanest or nicest but will do

Feb 2nd, 2020

The first room I was put in had a horrible smell. It smelled like there were pets or something in the room but I don’t think it’s a pet friendly hotel so I’m not sure. I also had booked a deluxe double room which is supposed to have a sitting area with chairs set up because me and two friends were getting ready for a show there. There was nothing like that. The room was small but that is to be expected in NYC. I then went to the front desk to let them know and the lady at the desk was pretty rude and told me to then get my stuff and they’d have another room at 3. Check in was at 3 but I called earlier and they said they could have something ready by 1, I got there around 2. I was so annoyed at that point because I was told I’d be able to check in early I upgraded my room to a bigger space. It was fairly clean and did not have that smell. Another friend was staying at the hotel that week (there was a show nearby so there were about 20 people staying at this hotel for it) said they also had to change from the first room they were given because it’s dirty. I understand in the city you will pay a lot for a little space but I expect that space should at least be clean. I would recommend going for a suite, they seem to take better care of those rooms. Charming, Old School Vibe. Perfect Location

Special thanks to Shanies - ask for her, she will take care of all your needs. This hotel radiates class, has spacious rooms, and is located in one of the most convenient and upscale areas in NYC. It has hosted the likes of Mark Twain and Babe Ruth. The hotel has maintained to keep up with modern technology while honoring its historic roots and vintage feel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
