A destination of its own!

Sep 18th, 2020

This hotel is truly a destination of its own! I stayed here last week and I’m still dreaming about it. The architecture and style is stunning. The rooms are huge and luxurious. The staff were so kind and on top of it with everything! The pool area is a dream, with stunning views and both a hot tub and pool! I honestly never wanted to leave the hotel! Grateful for the opportunity to stay here! I’ll be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The worst imaginable $15000 experience.

Sep 10th, 2020

We were checked into a room on Thursday looking directly into another room. When we asked to move we were told there were no options except the presidential suite at an up charge of $3500 per nigh. After 4 calls to the front desk with no other solutions offered we capitulated at an up charge of $3000 per night and invited another couple to fly out and join us. The presidential suite was actually a hospitality suite on top of the parking garage that was completely empty of useful items. We requested the room be stocked with stuff so we could use it — the kitchen the bar, etc. That never happened. The house wine and rum were terrible so I went and stocked up food and alcohol at Trader Joe’s and asked for things like knives plates glasses etc in the barren kitchen. Nothing ever can as requested; it was always comically wrong. We asked for room cleaning from 11 to 3 on Saturday as we went on a wine tasting with friends. Nothing done when we returned. So by then it was obvious that we had been ignored again. The response was a botttle of sparkiling wine. We left a day early. On top of paying for the original room the bill was about $16k. To be ignored and then patronized by managers. What a disaster. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nicely finished, great location, but weak pool situation

Sep 8th, 2020

This is a very nice hotel in a convenient location within Santa Barbara. I do feel the pool size, pool deck, and pool chair quantities were not on the same level as the hotel. Let me clarify, the pool is on the rooftop but it is the smallest hotel pool of this class that I have ever seen. The deck around the actual pool was very small as well, they have an elevated area with more lounging options but we witnessed people being turned away because they had no more availability. Honestly, if I am spending this much, I expect to be able to sit at the pool and not feel crowded in a small pool. The pool service was understaffed. I probably would not go back but it is a nice hotel. Room cleaning was as requested, which was not told to me upon check-in. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

NOT family friendly

Sep 6th, 2020

This hotel experience was one of the worst we've experienced as a family. We have been doing some local travel this year and have felt safe at the hotels we have stayed in up until now. The first issue I have with hotel is the pool and the cleanliness. Lots of drunk people breaking GLASS champagne flutes poolside and no one cleaning up the glass, used cups and straws and food on the ground right around the pool. Yes, broken GLASS right by the pool edge, where my kids would walk, other people walking by picking up that glass and throwing the pieces off the roof. The service was very inattentive but the food is good. The pool area was very crowded and yes the people are mostly couples or groups and some were so drunk by late afternoon they could hardly walk. People were also smoking on the pool deck. The second issue was the terrible service, both at the pool and on check in. Service is not friendly and unattentive. The room itself is nice but at least three times in the middle of the night we were awoken by drunk girls RUNNING and SCREAMING down the halls. The shower also leaked an inch of water all over the bathroom floor and the issue was a lack of seal in two places and an incorrect slope for the shower edge. The location is great if you love to be in the heart of all the restaurants and shops, close proximity to the beach, and enjoy being around hoards of people walking around without masks taking their vapid photos for IG and not social distancing during a pandemic. The view from the pool is beautiful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
