Excellent hotel and service

Oct 27th, 2019

I really cannot fault this hotel Great facilities, fabulous staff and wonderful food. We arrived late after a flight delay and were offered toasties and drinks. We found our room spotless with a great pool view ( would recommend a pool side room for sitting out on an evening). Aircon was working and fridge stocked with some drinks. The pool features a lagoon style with a deepend for experienced swimmers. Also has a slide that the kids loved. Very cold at this time of year however the sun was hot so was nice to use to cool down. The beach was so close and great to plunge in the sea and cool off - the weather was amazing whilst we were here. We were allowed to use free pedalos and there were plenty of other water sports available for a charge Local amenities such as supermarkets, car hire and tavernas are a short walk away. The water park is around 20min walk and Faliraki a similar distance. The quality of food and waiter service was fabulous every day and we always found something to eat without getting bored over our 9 days. The pool bar serves amazing crepes between 10am and 6pm Evening entertainment was fairly standard for this type of place and as we were here late October was winding down for the season. The hotel is geared towards the German market but everyone also spoke English without a problem and the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. Will definitely be coming back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed the stay but ....

Sep 14th, 2019

The complex is ok, good staff and i decided to book the hotel oncemore . Just 8 days before arrivall the hotel cancelled my CONFIRMED booking with reason : hotel is fully booked. So its like a roulette , but for holidays :) i think its very unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great AI on the beach

Sep 9th, 2019

Visited here for a week in August. When we first arrived I wasn’t too sure as the hotel seemed a bit small but I soon settled in. We got no information on any facilities or a leaflet on the hotel when we checked in which didn’t help. There are four bars if you include the roof bar at the sister hotel opposite. The beach bar and the bar that stays open late are great, bar staff v friendly. Lots of branded spirits but I didn’t particularly like the mixers, the tonic especially. A very nice seating area near the stage. The food was good, not the best selection I’ve had on AI - lots of things in sauce which I don’t like - but you could always find something nice and my teenage son liked the food which is a plus. The restaurant staff were great, really looked after us. The giros for lunch were top of my list everyday. We only saw the entertainment on a few nights but were impressed by it. The act with Whitney, Lionel and Tina (I don’t know their name) where excellent. Good position in that it is 20 mins walk to Falaraki (basically a strip of bars). We got the bus to Lindos which took about an hour and seemed the cheapest way of getting there. You can get the bus to Rhodes town but we didn’t bother as we stayed there last year. Not particularly easy to get a sunbed but we always got one in the garden bit as we don’t tend to go outside until about 11am. Room was nice enough with a free safe and a fridge. Good air con. Shop and hairdresser and a spa which we didn’t use. Not lots of English but other people don’t bother me on holiday. So generally I would recommend this place - great staff, good position, right on the beach with free beds, you will always find something to eat or drink. Spotlessly clean. And an attractive hotel - curvy pool etc. We all enjoyed our week here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Above average some parts great some lacking

Aug 29th, 2019

I enjoyed my stay here but the sister hotel across the road helped. Positives The staff can’t do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. There is an a la carte restaurant you can go to once in your stay which is ok, a shop, spa, you get 15 mins free massage, welcome drink / wine in your room, fizzy Italian Spumante as part of the all inclusive as well as branded drinks and spirits. Drinks are strong you have to be careful ! Crepe bar by the pool where the kids enjoyed Nutella crepes . Snack bar all day and air conditioned main restaurant. Considering it was August and busy there was very little queuing unlike other places we have been. Daily evening entertainment was varied . The animation team work hard. There was a couple of brought in acts, the supremes tribute and tribal dancers were amazing. The Italian theme night was excellent by far the best food and best night . The hotel is clean. Location excellent bus outside 20 mins to Rhodes town and 20 min walk into Faliraki, atm up the road, shops near by, on the beach with private access. Safe free which was nice. Cola and water in fridge on arrival but doesn’t get replaced . Negatives The room was a little dated, but functional. Our double bed was two singles pushed together which irritates me. My kids were on a sofa bed. Not great despite paying extra for a room with a divide to give them privacy. They also had to share which wasn’t made clear as a boy and girl not great. The food was average. I’m surprised people have raved. I found it so repetitive. The snack bar has the same every day. That said when I complained they asked me daily what they could make for me and gave us access to the sister hotel over the road which is higher end - Thomas cook signature , jazz nights, pizza oven etc. I must admit the pizza oven saved me. Twice a week for lunch it’s excellent, tuesdays and saturdays I think it was. Shame calypso beach don’t have one. Food better over the road, I also have concerns around the safety of the kids club. The animation team are good but not experienced. I didn’t feel safe leaving kids with them and had to complain about a member of staff drawing on my daughters face with pens. More safeguarding training required. The kids club is right by the side access to the hotel which is next to an open broken gate. I couldn’t help think about Madeline McCann in 30 seconds anyone could come in and snatch a child. The gate needs fixing to prevent random people entering the hotel. No wristbands so makes you wonder who could come in, also no signing kids in and out procedures, name stickers etc I would expect. The evening event seemed to be taking the kids around the resort which is why I wasn’t ok with it. No one knew where kids are Maids are good, room clean, but they start early and are noisy chatting and woke me up. Also be aware of electronic system saying if you want maid to come we didn’t realise, it’s a switch by the door. All in all it was a nice week made better by the staff. I would recommend but I hope they can improve food and safety for children to make this excellent and on par with other 4**** places TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel

Great location, lovely pools and beach. Rooms were really nice, the one we were in didn't have much of a view as it looked over the road. The lunch buffet was good and the greek night in the main restaurant was really good. Would definitely recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
