Cozy and Clean in Paris

Not a glamorous venue, but it is cozy. The desk staff is wonderful and the daily breakfast buffet spread will spoil you with fresh juices, baked pastries, cheese and fruit varieties, and delectable French yogurt. Plus, it’s easily accessible to Chanel, Longchamp, and several nearby bistros and shops as well as the Tulleries Gardens and the Musee d’Orsay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect

The hotel is amazing! Best location in Paris, beside the main attractions, quiet and clean, with great staff. I loved being there and I wish I can return soon! There´s no chance of being mistaken when you choose this hotel in Paris. During Christmas time, you´ll stay in front of the Christmas Market of the Jardin des Tuilleries! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome trip to Paris

Hotel Cambon is outstanding in every way: atmosphere, location, service, price and lots more! It helped make my trip to Paris a dream come true! My room was perfect. The location put me in the middle of major sights many within walking distance. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very good localisation.

Very friendly staff. The rooms very well clean and a good breakfast, not awesome but good. And for sure the best is indeed the localisation. Near everithyng that i was to meant to visit and for the work at the FIA office. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not all that glitters is gold. But it sure costs like it...

In the “real world” of disasters and pains the following is ludicrous. But business is business and this business is poorly run. I had been here in 2013 and had an excellent experience. I was surprised negatively this time by a remarkable change for the worse. I assume it is under new management. I had booked months in advance through their website. They obviously have a very capable photographer given that the room I walked into was nothing like the photo. A double room sold for two. Symbolically, I suppose, we found bathroom linens for one and had to alert staff. But this can happen, no problem. The breakfast was ungenerous and sparing - given the circumtances of course (and the price!) and the breakfast area was not clean –crumbs on most tables and only three ready. Staff seemed ill- prepared and indeed non professional relative to the hotel industry - the concierge a student with a side job, for example and clueless when asked questions. Admirable, no doubt, but not what you would expect. Upon retrurning to the hotel at 17:30, we found our room still unmade. I assume this can happen too, no problem. But when I complained I was amazingly told that "errors can happen", that it was no one’s fault, and that in 10 minutes our room would be made. A short time for careful cleaning... When the concierge later ungenerously blamed housekeeping, I asked to speak with the manager - not on the premises at 17:30 and only after our insistence did he give me her email. He then spoke to the housekeeping staff and told her (I am fluent in french) to "clean well as we were upset and going to call management"... (I assumed they would clean well regardless). After thirty minutes in the lobby we were able to "go to our room". No apology, no sign from management. Even after I wrote to the general manager, simply to let him know. No excuses for a 300 euro a night hotel. I agree that errors can happen. Yet when errors are made, it is normal to amend them and, given the circumstances, go an extra mile to ensure guest satisfaction. None of this happened. And putting all the above together, I would not recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
