Good overnight stay before a trip

Nov 20th, 2019

We stayed at this hotel prior to a trip south this November. The front desk staff were very friendly and had us checked in quickly. The room was clean. Good selection of TV channels for us to watch prior to departure. Lots of hot water available to get cleaned up. Beds were comfortable and the heat worked well in the room. We did not use it, but there were some coffee and tea packets in the room. In the morning there is coffee and pastries available in the lobby area. There are a lot of restaurants in the area, just a short walk or drive away. The hotel is near the flight approach to the airport so you can here some of this noise, but it was not too bad and other hotels near the airport have the same issue. There is long term parking available also in a separate lot near the hotel, but we usually use ParknFly. We did park overnight outside the lobby for $10. We have stayed at this hotel before and will return again for subsequent trips. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I am sharing my story hopefully to help other people, hoping they will choose another place to stay based on my horrific night there. A few red flags at this place was the area between the bed and the wall......looks like 20 years of dust and debris as I was trying to plug in my phone. The corners of the room were dirty and the sink had hair. The staff was rude as well, except for the gentleman that drove the shuttle. oh and if you like a quiet sleep as well then forget it. The planes go over the hotel about every 15 minutes and are verrrrrry loud! I ended up getting bitten by 30 plus bed bugs during my one night stay. The next day we were off to Mexico for a 7 night stay for my birthday in Cancun that cost us just over $3,800.00 that was completely ruined by all of the bed bug bites all over my body. I didn't want to wear any of the outfits I had brought, I didn't want to go into the pool because I looked terrible. My itchiness was unbearable to the point of crying several times a day. I barley slept the whole time I was there b/c the sheets touching my bites made me itch so bad. I emailed my travel agent the next day to ask her what I should do. She said to try to enjoy the trip and we will figure it out when I'm back. I left a note with the guy at the front desk when we got back to the hotel to get our car (it was parked there) and he said he would have someone contact me, which happened 5 DAYS LATER! I at least wanted some acknowledgement that this is a serious situation and I was livid so much time had passed since I told the front desk when we were back. I asked for a full refund (which lets face it, doesn't even matter but at least it is some sort of justice) and the response I got 5 days later was that they had the room checked and that nothing was found. Within 5 days a lot can happen. They must have had someone go in there and clean it and then had it reassessed by a different company, b/c lets face it, THE BUGS WERE THERE WHEN I WAS THERE. That or the report was bogus, who really knows. A lot can happen in that period of time it took them to respond to me. They also sent me a report from the "apparent" company that checked the room.....again, 5 days later. I have been attacked by bed bugs before in a theatre downtown in Toronto and I know what they are. I know what these terrible bites from head to toe were caused by. To have that many bites on my body means there were several bed bugs in that mattress/bed as most bed bugs will bite you between 2-4 times. Do the math. The response from them was a brush off and that their little report "proves something." It proves nothing. I was attacked in there and that is it. They will respond with something along the lines of "she had an allergic reaction" or " the report, the report, the report" like it is some kind of proof. They will try to say anything to save their hotel when they respond to this review but don't listen to them. If you read other reviews as well based on the staff there, you will see I'm right. Also take a look on my profile and read some of my other reviews. In 200 some odd review I have probably written 10 bad ones.....I'm not one to write bad reviews unless I feel it is well deserved and it is all based on truth. You know what? Just take a look at my photos and tell me if that is proof enough for you. I have no reason to talk about a hotel that is running a fair and honest business in an ill manner. This is real my friends, this happened here. If you look back in the earlier posts you will find more evidence of bed bug bites from past customers. I am appalled at the way the staff handled this and I was very angry for a long time and they knew that too based on the way I emailed them back. I am hurt that my trip was completely ruined by this situation and I will make sure to continue to tell my story to ANYONE looking to stay near the airport. The pictures by the way are only of areas I can post on here, trust me, they were in some even worse areas as well. Stay at the Sheraton, spend the extra dollars and save your body from this. Excellent value for park, sleep and Fly stay the night prior to our trip to Mexico. Room was nice and clean. Service desk looked after all our needs. Lots of restaurants close to hotel. Parking adjacent to hotel and was a very safe enviroment! Would definitely recommend and use this hotel again in the future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My Worst hotel experience in canada

Nov 8th, 2019

Upon arrival from a long flight me and my family encounterd the ruddest front desk officer at this hotel. She was highly dismissive and rude to answer any of our questions regarding checkin time and we eventually had to call Uber and look for another last minute accomodation elsewhere. Best decision ever, although it ended up costing us more with the last minute changes, it was well worth it as there are many excellent hotels in Toronto area and we did enjoy out short transit break in Canada. Overnight at the Carlingview

Nov 5th, 2019

Accommodation here is pretty basic. The rooms are looking very tired. Staff are friendly and helpful. Provide transport to the airport if needed. Charge $10. For overnight parking. Coffee and muffins in the lobby in the morning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
