Lorena was our waitress and she was kind and attentive. The ladies at the front desk were great too! There was a mixup with our room and they bent over backwards to set things right. The hotel could use upgrades in the rooms but good for price TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Where is the modern conveniences
Nov 13th, 2020
Nice old hotel the first problem was when I went to the coffee shop and was told they don’t handle decaf who doesn’t handle decaf? The second issue I had was in the room we have a modern television but no miniature refrigerator no microwave no conveniences to make life a little easier The other real problem is their bathrooms they have at least 10 foot ceilings with one light and a 60 W bulb so when you step into the shower and close the curtain it’s almost completely dark you also can’t just turn the water on and get in the shower it takes up to seven minutes to receive warm water from the boilers downstairs and not much water pressure it would seem to me that they could put on demand hot water systems with upgraded pumps to increase the pressure as you can see the reviews on this hotel are slowly dropping because of no updates. It would seem to me that the owners would see in today’s age if you’re not furnishing conveniences for people that are traveling you’re soon not going to have a viable motel/hotel On a positive note the gentleman that runs the van went out of his way to accommodate us in every way probably the highlight of our stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed in a king suite room with my one year old daughter and husband. Received a discounted promotional rate when booking through the website. Staff was very friendly, room and spaces were clean. Jetted tub in the bathroom, but jets did not work. Bed was comfortable. Tvs were on the smaller side, but not a big deal since we were not there to watch tv. We stayed during the week so the hotel was not busy, but it was easy to hear other guests in their rooms or walking through the hallway. Food in the restaurant was very good. Lots of character to the hotel. It has steam heat for the rooms and the water takes a while to get hot, which we were made aware of, and neither were an issue for us, we simply made it work. Hotel is in a good location, walking distance to trails, convenience stores and other restaurants. Overall, a great stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Hotel Colorado for the win

We were completely satisfied with our stay at the Hotel Colorado, and discussed our return with our daughters while driving down the mountain today. We were so very impressed with the entire staff, this is the most diligent crew we have seen in all our travels! Being a business owner and my wife a business manager, we truly marveled at how professional and thorough the entire staff was throughout our stay. Lorena in the restaurant served us breakfast both days and not only delivered excellent customer service but also four tasty and beautiful dishes to our table. The accomodations were quite cozy and the wealth of history in the halls kept us engaged in learning more about Teddy Roosevelt and his connection to the HC and Glenwood Springs. Thank you for making our getaway so wonderful, See you in March! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Old-world style & grace at a great price!

This grand hotel is centrally located to the many sights & activities in Glenwood Springs and the Roaring Fork Valley. The rooms are clean, quiet and spacious. Even the hallways and grand carpeted stairways were wide. It has fireplaces and comfortable seating in its lobbies. Although presidents have stayed here in the past, they made us all feel like Teddy Roosevelt. This was during the Covid pandemic, so meticulous precautions had been taken and we were very comfortable; because of Covid, food was carry-out only ~ but the food is absolutely superb! Especially be sure to order the elk breakfast hash! It is across the street from the amazing Glenwood Hot Springs. I think this was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our 2-week road trip across the Mountain States, and the price was great. Highly recommended - we WILL stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
