Beautiful experience, clean, comfy, fantastic view

Well located just few minutes walking from the little village church, the hotel has a reception located in another building in front of the actual hotel but connected via tunnel as well. Stunning spa, one of the best spa I have been to, TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Amazing Holiday

My girlfriend and I have been looking forward to be in Leukerbad very long time, We finally did it 2 months ago, It has been a great experience in Hotel de France, the service was great, room also bright with great view on the mountain. Also Sacre Bon restaurant was warming and familiar with delicious characteristic Swiss food. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

disappointing

The room was old, and I had no choice but to doubt the cleaning system after seeing a dead mosquito’s body on the desk. Also, the way to the spa was difficult and there was no appropriate sign. And most of all, the reception staff was very rude. I dialed to 620 or something as written in the information pamphlet put on the phone table, and reception staff answered. It was not bad until I ordered the beef steak. But when I ordered the “pan fried red snapper on chorizo rissoto”, she really embarrased me. She told me in an annoyed voice “I can’t understand you, WHAT?!! WHAT?!!”. That was repeated several times, OK? Several times maybe almost ten times!! She repeated “I can’t understand you”, “what” even when my words was not finished. Like this, “pan fried..” “what?!! I can’t understand you!” Is she not good at english? Or just a rude staff? Otherwise, the other staff was nice and my order was accepted successfully. It’s not my first abroad trip, not my first order and not my first phone call in english. I’ve never seen a staff who can’t understand my order. Even if I couldn’t speak english well, her attitude would not be right. Fortunately, the other staffs were good and I heard from one of them that she was a new employee in that hotel. Yeah, I also know the difficulty of doing new job but.. Anyway, the mountain view from the outside spa was really beautiful and stunning. That was unforgettable. 힘들게 찾아갈 만한 곳은 아닌 것 같아요 온천도 그리 따뜻하지 않고 한국 목욕탕보다 별로에요.. 온천이라는데 관리 목적으로 락스를 넣어서 온천의 효과가 있는지도 모르겠구요 외부 온천탕에서 바라보는 경치는 예술이지만 그거 하나 보자고 가기에는 너무 먼 길인 느낌.. 주변에 딱히 다른거 볼 것도 많지 않습니다 무엇보다 리셉션 직원 한명이 너무 무례해서.. 여행 기분 잡쳤었네요 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Super comfy bed

This hotel has been revamped (in parts). Mainly the rooms, though it could have been done with a bit more care in places. The hotel was super quiet whilst we were there, very comfortable and size able room. The breakfast included at the hotel across the road was plentiful and a huge variety, we were really impressed. The free use of the thermal pools was why we decided to stay there. Absolute heaven. We found it hard to find on arrival because the Hotel de France isn’t signposted anywhere!!! You must instead look for the Thermal Pools and the Maison Blanche, where you must check it. That was super confusing to start with and we kept driving round and round trying to find the hotel not realizing we shouldn’t actually be looking for it!!!! Arghhhh Otherwise we had a wonderful and very relaxing stay. We also took along our two little doggies, who were most welcomed there, apart from in the restaurants - but that’s fine. Great Service, Odd Check-in Process

We booked a same night stay and found the hotel easily but there was NO check-in desk. We walked around the hotel exterior a couple of times, and found no one. It was only when another couple came in and showed us a small sign above a telephone, in German, instructing us to go across the road to a sister hotel that we were helped. Once at the sister hotel, after a bit of a wait, we did get good service, they made a parking accommodation for our motorcycle, and we got a room with a view. Bed was comfy, robes and slippers were included for Spa use, and in the morning breakfast was plentiful and fresh. Recommend English translation on the sign! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
