Cute hotel in the heart of Bruges.

May 18th, 2019

Fabulous location in the middle of all the action. I booked a heritage room on the second floor not facing the canal as I was a bit concerned about the noise. The hotel itself is very cute as were the rooms. One issue was the noise transfer as we could hear heavy footsteps from the guests upstairs as well as people talking in the hall and walking outside our room door which woke us up. Very 'thin' walls. The towels were old and flat. They were not fluffy at all and we were only given 2 large bath towels and I had to call and ask to bring more both days. The other issue we had was that our room was not made up by 7pm. We had to go down to the front desk and ask for this to be done and were told that they should have been cleaned by 2:30pm. We obviously got missed but they did manage to clean the room by the time we got home from dinner. A few glitches is why I gave this hotel 4 stars instead of 5. One exceptional staff interaction was with Meite (I hope I spelled that correctly). She was absolutly amazing. As the hotel is very small, we saw her all the time. She checked us in and was so lovely. Meite went over and above when I made a mistake with my train booking back to Paris. After trying for two hours I couldn't fix things on line nor on the phone, she told me to come down and that she would help. Meite called the train reservations, made the change for me and took care of things. It was so helpful and took the stress off. I was so grateful for her help and kindness. She really is great! Overall, it was a nice hotel and I would stay here again but I'd ask for the top floor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My mums 80th

May 15th, 2019

We stayed at this beautiful hotel for my mums 80th birthday, this was suggested by my brother Andy fletcher from Depeche mode. My mum myself my 2 Brothers and my gorgeous niece had a lovely time at this amazing hotel, the staff were so nice and helpful and always there for all that we needed. This hotel makes you feel welcome and special. We did not spend enough time here which made us feel sad to leave. The lounge with the fire place was our main focus to meet. There we went out to the amazing restaurants for dinner over the 3 nights we spent here. I will defiantly revisit this hotel and hopefully see the great staff again. If you are lucky to visit Bruges then please stay at this hotel you will not regret it.. all I can say is Thank you xxxx TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Four nights in Bruges

May 15th, 2019

My wife and I spent four wonderful nights last week at the Hotel de Orangerie to celebrate her birthday. The staff were welcoming, attentive, friendly .... making us feel special. My wife and I celebrated her birthday by enjoying the afternoon tea with sandwiches, pastries and cakes all made in the hotel and absolutely delicious. Even if you do not stay at the hotel, do try the afternoon tea (they take non-residents). This is a comfortable, stylish hotel in a perfect location to visit the museums and the sights in the town. I would highly recommend it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Treat yourself to a stay

Hotel de Orangerie is a small elegant property in the heart of Brugge right on a canal. Conveniently, not only does the canal boat company have a dock nearby but the hotel is also next door to a brewery that gives tastings! Since Brugge is small, everything is within walking distance . Our room was very well appointed and the staff very welcoming and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

LOVELY AFTERNOON TEA

May 12th, 2019

It has become a custom that when together, my daughter-in-law, young granddaughter and I enjoy a formal afternoon tea. This year it was at Hotel de Orangerie in Bruges. The adults in our party enjoyed a glass of champagne with our tea and my granddaughter, a delicious cup of hot Belgium cocoa. The four different types of finger sandwiches were fresh and delicious. The scones were a bit different than we've had on previous occasions, but as with the sandwiches, delicious. Of course, there was clotted cream and jam to adorn the scones! The pastries were almost too beautiful to eat! All serving items, as well as the dining room, were absolutely elegant. My only disappointment was that I had to find our waiter to get our tea! One tip: Book a table in the dining room, not on their patio, as the queue for one of the canal boat tours lines up along the railing. A diner would not have a view of the picturesque canal, but all those in the queue would have a lovely view of you and your afternoon tea! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
