Best for a tall singleton

Nov 2nd, 2019

There's lots to like about the Graduate Seattle-great beds, fun decor, central U district location. The staff was friendly and helpful. However some pieces haven't come together yet-we weren't informed that the hotel restaurant was closed for construction, a blanket request took about 20 minutes, the alarm clock was on and went off late at night, some towels were missing from the set for two, which I didn't discover until I was about to step into the shower. These are pretty minor, but the bathroom isn't. I didn't mind the small size, which others have mentioned, but it was definitely NOT designed by/for women (except for very tall ones). The single hook for towels/robes was so far above my head that even my 6ft.+ partner found it a reach. There was only one half-sized towel rack. Storage was limited to one small, high-up shelf. It was basically a nice, small bathroom that you couldn't take anything into-not nightclothes, robes, or toiletries. This issue needs resolution. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location and interesting hotel

Oct 20th, 2019

The lobby is very interesting. The rooms are small but fairly well decorated. The bathroom was tiny. I stayed there for three nights while moving my daughter into UW, so the location was perfect. The coffee and sandwich in the coffee shop off the lobby were great. The service was friendly. The elevators were incredibly slow and sometimes there were long waits. Would stay there again. Horrible and traumatizing

Oct 4th, 2019

October 4th 2019...First off I'm gonna lead with a bit of backstory. Myself and 3 lady friends booked 2 rooms for our stay while we attended a show at the Neptune Theater. After a great show and some drinks and food afterwards we headed to our rooms to go to bed. We weren't up to party, our evening was done for the night. 1 of my lady friends went ahead of the group but couldn't find her key card so we met back up in the elevator. Not 10 minutes passed after getting inside our rooms before there was a knock at the door. We were in the process of changing into our sleepwear and thought that it was our other friends possibly needing something. I opened the door to what appeared to be a random stranger in a Texas Walker Ranger costume...identified himself as hotel security and requested that we step into the hallway because there was a noise complaint. Red flag! No dude, we are half naked and I dont neccesarily believe you are who you say you are. There was never a call from the front desk to communicate there was any problem or that a person from the hotel staff was coming to our room. You are a complete stranger with no hotel identification just expecting me to exit my room...absolutely not. Things only progressed from there. The next thing I know...within minutes, he's called the insisting that my friend leaves the hotel. He actually kicked her out of the hotel. Because she refused to go into the hallway clothed only in her underwear and shirt. All we wanted was to go to bed. It was completely inappropriate and it creeped us out from the very beginning. Both of us had drinks and we felt very vulnerable and were guarded and didn't want to be dragged out into the hallway. Again there was never a call from the front desk. There was never a warning of a noise complaint. Had there been a simple call to our room we would have responsibility respected the complaint. The "security person" then proceeds to go to my groups other room to inform them that the police were on there way. Why did he do that? He claimed he was going to all the rooms but after they shut the door he came straight back to our room without going to any other doors. At this point it was very clear that he had an agenda to target my roommate. Insisted that she must leave the hotel. There was never an offer to move our room. There was never the opportunity for us to just go to bed..there was alot of back and forth at this point because here we are as hotel guests from out of town. Obviously if we had another place to stay it would not be in a hotel. He kicked my friend out in the middle of the night with nowhere to go. We all felt helpless and targeted. My friend was police escorted to the lobby where we now find ourselves in the position to try and find her a place to go. She has family in Bothell so we were trying to get her there at least. We've been drinking and she certainly can't drive herself anywhere. She can't sleep in her car on the street. The hotel desk clerk did not want to call a cab or an UBER and a member of our group insisted that they do so. This is where the security person offers to give my friend a ride to Bothell. Are you kidding us right now. You just kicked her out of the hotel and now you are offering her a ride. CREEPY, INAPPROPRIATE, SO UNPROFESSIONAL. Definitely felt that is was predatory to say the least. After all is said and done and my friend is in a cab and on her way....which should never have happened to begin with. I am now alone in my room just in complete shock of everything. I feel so vulnerable, even with the door locked and chained. Traumatized by the entire situation. Even now as I write this I am shaken to my core. I have never experienced anything comparable in all of my travels and stayed in hotels all around the country. This experience has left us all with a bitter taste. There needs to be an inquiry of this security person. Above everything else the last straw was the offer to give her a ride. Made in front of the desk clerk...he even seemed surprised by this. On so many levels that is wrong. No you cannot give my friend an ride anywhere. You will call her a cab. We are not okay or happy with this experience. We walked away from this hotel completely disappointed and dissatisfied. Yuck, just yuck. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Views (with a little noise)

Sep 26th, 2019

I stayed at this hotel for two nights while attending a conference on the UW campus. The hotel decor and ambiance is on point - and it's all in the details from the room keys to the artwork in the lobby. The staff were all super friendly, especially at the Mountaineering Club. The bartender willingly gave me recommendations, and even reserved my seat so I could take in the 360 view of Seattle. Though the rooms are cute and playful, the walls are thin! If you have a hard time sleeping, definitely bring plugs or a noise machine app. Overall, I definitely would stay here again! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
