Terrible terrible terrible!!!

This place is an absolute horrible hotel.. I could not get any sleep because the construction was so loud and when I contacted the front desk and changed rooms they charge me for another day even though I checked out at 6 p.m.. two days just to get 1 days worth of sleep. This place is a joke and I will tell my friends and family for the rest of my life to never ever step foot in this nightmare of a hotel. it makes me happy to know that they have closed their doors for the time being and I hope it's forever. This company does not know how to treat their guests and I hope they go bankrupt!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fraudulent billing

Mar 9th, 2020

A year after we stayed at The Graduate, we were charged again. They claimed they had a rogue employee who hadn't charged us. Complete scam, and they were completely unresponsive to my attempts to remedy. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quirky and fun, we'll be back

Mar 8th, 2020

What we loved: Intimate for a 16 story hotel; only 12 rooms per floor, nearly all with views. Campy art deco furniture with unusual colors--pale pink walls, burnt orange sofa, purple chairs, and it all works. Very comfortable bed. Great location for University visitors. The very popular Mountaineering Club rooftop bar for pre-dinner cocktails and Lake Union/sunset view. $80 less per night than the cookie-cutter chain hotel on the next block. What wasn't quite so great: Bottled water in your room is $5 each. Bring your own! No in-room coffee (coffee's available in the lobby, but that's not quite the same.) No glassware for travellers with a bottle of wine in their luggage. Valet parking expensive--same rate as downtown but this isn't downtown. Front desk personnel could use a little grooming on the language of graceful hospitality. In short: choose your poison. This isn't the Waldorf Astoria, but it's a great value for a fine old grand dame of a hotel with real charm and character and that's pretty darned hard to come by. We'll be back, happy to bring our own water and do without coffee until we're dressed and out of there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel, great location, but the reception staff can be a bit disorganised

Mar 2nd, 2020

I was here for 3 nights for a work-related trip. The hotel is very clean and tidy and the provided toiletries are of a great quality. They don’t have a service elevator though so if you’re there during the day, you’ll often have housekeeping riding with you with huge racks of laundry or cleaning things. They were always very polite and friendly so it wasn’t a problem. There is a gym, but it is very tiny (2 treadmills, 1 cross trainer, 1 stationary bike and some free weights) - it was clean and well air conditioned though, and they had towels so it did it’s job! The rooms were generally nice: my standard room had a couch, a desk and a great view. No food or room service though, and the water bottles in the room are not complimentary - they’re $5 / each. There were a couple of issues with our group: they do laundry, so one of my colleagues handed in a shirt to be washed on Monday morning (it was meant to by done Monday evening). When he went to ask about it, it turned out that the person he’d handed it in to had misplaced it. He finally got it back on Thursday evening! Thankfully our formal dinner was on Thursday so it still worked out, but it could have been a huge inconvenience since it was the only shirt he brought. They also waived the cleaning fee for the inconvenience. The other issue happened with at least two of my colleagues: when you check in they ask for your card for a security deposit and two of my colleagues were charged for it twice for some reason. Again no harm done in this case, but it’s worth double checking your bill. All in all it’s a great value for money, and a really good location, especially if you’re misty looking for a central place to day and not a place to hang out. Based on the issues we had though, it seems like the reception staff can be a bit disorganised. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
