Great place in the center of the city, the duplex room is great value for money. people are very helpful. Breakfast was great and wonderful coffee. Parking is in the building and compared to other hotels not so expensive. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice hotel but Disappointing Male Receptionist

Feb 12th, 2020

The hotel looks lovely from the outside and the interior lounge and dinning areas are also very impressive, of very high standard. The breakfast was also delicious, plenty of choice and the waiting staff were attentive and very well mannered. However, we started off on a bad note. Prior to arriving I was informed in writing by Emily at reception who was lovely and helpful, that if a larger room was available we could be upgraded free of charge. However, upon arrival although the room was still available, her male colleague on reception was adamant that there had been a miscommunication and that they would never do that, despite the proof in writing. It would have been a nice gesture, especially as the room was available and we had booked a 4 night stay with breakfast. Unfortunately the standard of the rooms drops and doesn't live up to 5 stars; the pillows were very lumpy, the power socket didn't work and the heating in our room wasn't working so they brought a radiator. The gym equipment was dated and the cross-trainer only worked on one setting. It's a shame as this was our first time in Bruges and my husband's birthday gift from me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Room 112 - junior suite - bathroom smells awefull due to terrible maintenance

Feb 9th, 2020

We booked a room for a oneday citytrip. During night, we shut off the airvent. Bad bad move... 4am at night, one of us visited the bathroom. Opening the bathroom door was a direct punch in the face. The smell coming out of it was horrible, beyond imagination. We were awake right away, and it took a while before we were able to find out what caused it. We turned on the airvent, and the smell faded a bit. That is, until one of us opened the shower door around 10am. An even bigger breath taking blow made us almost throw up instantly. The reason: tiles on the floor did not have any cement between them anymore. All we saw was smelling stinking skingrease, and who knows what else was sitting there, rotting between and under the loose tiles. This was not an incident that occurred. This was clearly a sign of terrible maintenance. We don't want to think about what kind of bacteria were living there in this Dukes Palace ecosystem. We told the reception about it and all we heard was: We'll tell the maintenance people. Its 524 Eur please. Seriously? Is this 5star customer service? TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stunning building...

Feb 5th, 2020

Stunning building and very helpful staff meant for a great start to our weekend in Bruges! However, the hotel tripped itself up on numerous fronts. Firstly, my biggest bugbear - pillows. They were more like bean bags! Despite asking at reception for new, slimmer ones - none were provided. Secondly, the shower ran hot and then cold making a nice shower impossible! Only little things, but it's those little things that make the difference! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
