Not your typical Marriott

Oct 24th, 2020

I chuckled writing this as I thought the review right before this was mine. It must’ve been the same room as my sink faucet broke as well during the stay. The room decor isn’t bright and airy but dark and dreary. The bathroom isn’t private (2 glass door partitions) and the shower had zero water pressure. It also had a pebble/rock floor which I normally would love if the rocks didn’t come out. There’s no way these things could be missed with normal check out cleaning. With all the other options in Tallahassee this wouldn’t be my first choice to stay again. We did have drinks at the bar at Shulas and the bartender was excellent. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Broken Faucet & 1/2 Used Toiletries

Oct 14th, 2020

Won’t stay here again. Sink faucet fell off, just by turning the water on. They moved me to a new room because of that. New room had half used hotel toiletries. Definitely not the standards of Marriott. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointed

Oct 9th, 2020

How is this hotel an Autograph Collection?! This hotel was unfortunately very disappointing. There is also no way the hotel is undertaking deep cleaning procedures for the rooms. There were random long hairs all over the bed. The room was just dingy and you could tell it was not deep cleaned nor were any high touch areas, like the remote, cleaned even recently. The shower pressure is nonexistent. I’m all for low flow shower heads and conserving water but this was on another level. I had to take a 30 min shower just to rinse off. The power went out during the stay as well which isn’t their fault. But nothing was ever said about it so that was odd. Anyway, this hotel should certainly not be part of the AC. The property is wonderful and they made my stay great. Brandon checked me in and showed me around the property. Everyone was very accommodating and did everything in their power to make my stay easy. I will definitely be going back!!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We should have stayed elsewhere & won't be back!

Aug 25th, 2020

Historic hotel was reportedly renovated & on the surface appeared stylish. Compact room with a queen bed, refrigerator, old-fashioned drip coffee maker, large lg television, lots of outlets, and a rain shower. The drip maker didn't work, daily I reset the clock yet the time was never correct & the refrigerator was filled with ice and froze our leftovers. We didn’t have a magnifying mirror, bathroom night light and many of the things we’ve become used to from the high-end Marriott chain. Parking was tricky after dark, difficult to maneuver, dirty and felt unsafe. The 2 small lots were very busy when the lobby restaurant was open for dinner. Since we checked in during the Covid pandemic we requested extra towels and soap to last for a three night stay. We looked for a housekeeping cart to take out our garbage & dirty towels, but we never found one. There was no valet, gym, rooftop restaurant nor bar… It was a bare basic room in a central location. There were only a few sheets of toilet paper left in the room, it took three phone calls and a trip down to the front desk to get more. Fortunately we brought our own tissues as there were none in the room. Turned the thermostat down to 65° in our room, still felt very warm. Although we were on the fifth floor we heard street traffic, doors closing and loud conversation around us during the night and early morning. Even with lots of light switches, a small high window, our gray room felt dark and it was hard to find things. There was only one small elevator working, we were told it would be repaired later today, but when the police officer asked He was told next week. Yes there were police officers in the hotel. We checked in during the Covid Pandemic and had we known then what we know now we never would have should have stayed here. We thought we were staying in a Boutique Luxury Hotel, which it was clearly NOT! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
