A gem along the river

Feb 21st, 2020

I've visited Dallas, Houston, and Austin a number of times, but this was my first time in San Antonio. And while I love its Texas siblings, there's something utterly charming and down-to-earth about SA that sets it apart. The River Walk, especially up here by the Pearl district, is gorgeous. When we arrived at the hotel on a Sunday morning, the whole area was buzzing with people. And the crown jewel is Hotel Emma. The decor is vintage industrial chic done right; it's so cool to see a historic building lovingly transformed into a modern space while keeping the best of the past intact. We arrived outside the window of opportunity for the welcome margarita, and by the time we returned to the hotel after exploring, it was too late... next time! But the staff members we encountered, from the valet to the front desk, were very hospitable. We sprung for a larger room that had a great river view. The bed was comfortable, the room amenities were top-notch... not a single wrong note. There are so many restaurants in this area, it's hard to know where to land... we were only here one night, but the opportunity to try other places is another reason for a return visit. Hotel Emma Never LLets Me Down

Feb 21st, 2020

I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is apparent that everyone employed by the company, LOVE, their job and it is very appreciated that everyone goes out of their way to ensure the comfort of hotel guests. I can't think of a better place to stay and will continue to stay there when I travel to San Antonio. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great area not worth the price

Feb 20th, 2020

Stayed at Emma for a family trip. The reviews were outstanding so we justified the price being 3x the next hotel. I can tell you that although the hotel lobby and bar were great the rooms were just ok and absolutely not 3x or even 2x every where else. The service was also ok but nothing special. No complaints but when you charge 3x or 400-500 more than every other hotel in the area you expect something special which was not the case. I suggest come to the area and then drive 10 minutes or Uber to your hotel and put the savings in you pocket TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Always the best experience

Feb 20th, 2020

The most incredible experience every time we have splurged and stayed at the Hotel Emma. Even the best hotels make mistakes (forgotten breakfast order) but it is the exceptional ones that admit their mistake and correct it immediately (with a sincere apology and a complimentary meal). Every other aspect of the experience was phenomenal!! Love this place! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fun and family friendly spot

Feb 19th, 2020

We loved Hotel Emma. The library was our favorite spot. The morning offering of delicious yogurt parfaits and banana muffins with coffee/tea/hot chocolate was outstanding. Everything from check in and the welcome you receive to the room decor was fantastic. The bathroom decor and bathtub were great too. Walking distance from so many places to eat and explore was awesome. We had a lovely time and will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
