Lovely hotel, keep copy of your reservation...

Nov 5th, 2019

I made reservations online on their own website. Check in didn't go too well. For some reason my name was not showing up in their system as having a reservation. The guy at the desk, just told me, nope, no reservation. He was not helpful AT ALL. I have Tmobile (worked flawlessly) , so I had service, thank goodness, I did not print hard copies (my bad). I had received two emails from the hotel, once when I made the reservation, then again a few days before I checked in so I don't know what happened. Anyway, after seeing the email on my phone, he checked me in. He gave me no info about the hotel amenities, breakfast, or even a map! But the hotel itself is pretty sweet, located well, near the Cibeles Fountain, The Palacio (similar to Macy's, visit their gourmet shop for snacks, wine etc for your room) and many restaurants. Price includes breakfast. Nothing fancy, fruit, pan dulce, fried tortilla chips, salsa to top, etc. My room overlooked the Calle Durango, I like noise, it helps me sleep, and I loved having the tall windows that open to the street, to have fresh air. TV didn't work too well, lots of static, bed was fine. You get slippers (!), a robe (!), and there are toiletries like shampoo, conditioner, and soap. There is a small basket of snacks in your room, very reasonable cost. A couple of bottles of water will be in your room, I also bought more water from the local OXXO (like 7/11 stores) overall, a very convenient stay, I used Uber to get from airport to hotel, and took about 45 minutes with traffic, and cost about $10 US, so its cheaper than using the taxi at the airport. There are a couple of bank ATM's located nearby to get cash, so don't worry if you don't get cash from airport ATMs. A wonderful mariscos (seafood) restaurant is a block or two away, Contramar, EXCELLENT if you like seafood. TIP: Strawberry Tours, does a Taco crawl from Cibeles fountain, just a 5 minute walk from this hotel. The tours are not associated with the hotel, but it is a nice way to get familiar with the area. I would definitely stay here again, BUT, I would definitely call a couple of days ahead to confirm my reservation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Charming hotel in a great neighborhood

Oct 29th, 2019

We've stayed twice already in this hotel and loved our stay both times. It's a relatively small hotel which makes it more intimate and personal and the location is great! Just a few blocks from metro station pink line and lots of restaurants nearby. It's a delight walking around the streets of this Roma Norte neighborhood and the neighboring Condesa. A block or so from the hotel is a big mall and not far past the mall is a small rotunda with a plaza in the middle and restaurants all around. The staff in the hotel are all friendly and provides good service. The rooms are comfortable, and bathrooms are decent with plenty of hot water and big shower head. For breakfast you can have their buffet or order from their menu. The hotel has that neighborhood-y vibe where you feel you're in a real neighborhood where locals go after work. La Casona is small, intimate, the staff are unfailingly friendly, the decor is interesting, the rooms are comfortable and the breakfasts are served with a smile. A great place, all three of us felt it was like home TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Cozy Quiet Quaint and Great Staff

Oct 1st, 2019

Historical building, well located in Roma District. Good walking streets and restaurants nearby. Quiet at night. Good hotel staff on duty 24/7. Breakfast included in room prices. Suggest rooms on upper floor. Windows actually open for fresh air. Great large bathrooms. Not overly modern or hip, just really old fashioned good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice area and great roof top terasse

Sep 16th, 2019

The hotel is nice and the staff very friendly. The breakfast is a small buffet and you can order great coffee. We were there with to children so it was nice to be able to sit on the roof top terasse and play cards. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
