Would NOT recommend!!

Jun 30th, 2020

While the ambience of the old hotel is cool too many other factors make me this this a 2* review. The rooms are nice sized but we were told to keep our window open to keep our room cool. I should have suspected something when I saw ear plugs in the bathroom kit!! About 5am it got super loud outside and sounded like metal banging. Got back at 7pm after exploring and our room had not been cleaned. I go downstairs and ask and assume it’s because of COVID precautions and was told they only service rooms every 3 days during a stay. What? Even Motel 6 brings you daily towels and makes your bed! For over $600 for 3 nights I expect to not have to sleep in earplugs and have clean towels! I would NEVER recommend this hotel or stay here again! Would have been better off staying at the Hampton Inn. Unfortunately, I have paid for 2 more nights here! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

weekend with my girlfriend

As a european experiencing this hotel was a treat. I have never been in a hotel with this atmosphere . Its placed right in the center of Taos, which conviniently places restaurents and such within walking distance. a great place to spend a weekend TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Alright, but wouldn’t return

Hotel reception area is nice, people were nice and friendly. Lawrence paintings were interesting and nice presentation. Room with King size bed was tight, but acceptable. Bathroom was fine. However; heating is noisy, walls are so thin we could hear the “excitement “, the giggles and then the snoring. Lastly, no coffee in room and at 6:55 were told the coffee shop didn’t open until 7:00 but they did pour a cup to go. It was ready. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very enjoyable stay

My husband and I spent one night here. We were lucky to get a room since it was during the Christmas holiday and didn't have a reservation. It's in a great location since it's right in the square. It's the oldest hotel in Taos, full of history, art and culture. The room was small but we were comfortable and everything was clean. The bed was comfortable and linens were high quality. The mezzanine was a nice area to sit and take in the surroundings. Coffee/tea is served here in the morning. The parking lot for hotel guests is behind the hotel; you pay $6 at the desk, which is very reasonable for the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
