Had a good, quiet stay

Nov 11th, 2019

Stayed in one of the cheaper rooms facing the annex. Good value for the money in Florence. Since we were out most of the day didn't need a room with a view. Had a good stay. Street was quiet, (dead end) so no cars going by. The bed is very comfortable and wifi was fast and reliable. Breakfast was healthy with a lot of options. Only downside is the walls and doors are thin. We were there during their off-season so not much noise but you could hear every door that opened and closed in the rooms next to you. Also, one night we had people in the room next to us and could hear their music, TV, laughing as well as their movements around the room. Just glad it was a quiet time in the hotel, otherwise review might not be as good. Also, bathroom was hard to navigate but expected that being in Europe. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Hotel Great Location

Oct 22nd, 2019

The hotel overlooks the Ponte Vecchio so you can walk to all the sites in Florence with ease, the Uffizi is 500m one way and the Pitti Palace 500m the other way. The downside is arriving by car they have a garage right next door but the one way system on Florence is crazy and both our sat nav and google maps were completely confused my advice would be arrive by taxi if you can. However the service started right in the garage they insisted we leave our bags for the porters and just go to reception. The welcome was great sit down offered a drink then escorted to your room and the bags appeared shortly after. The room was well decorated and comfortable with a remarkable 55inch flat screen TV right on the wall opposite the bed. Only issue we had is that there was no bath only a shower (but it was a very good shower). The Hotel facilities are great a michelin starred restaurant (Borgo s. Jacopo) and an elegant cocktail bar. They are part of Ferragamo group and there are two hotels just across the river where you can go to a bistro or (well worth a visit) the rooftop cocktail bar. All the staff were super helpful and had time for you. Would recommend anyone visiting Florence to stay here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location in a beautiful boutique hotel

Oct 20th, 2019

We booked with hotels.com and were treated as special guests. I always wondered would booking with a discount site get you lesser treatment. It certainly did not. In fact, we booked a street side room & asked to be upgraded to a river view. They were unable to do that due to occupancy but they did upgrade us to a room with a balcony that had views over rooftops to beautiful hills in the distance. I ended up loving that view perhaps more than the river! The most outstanding part of this hotel were the amazing Concierges - Paolo & a man's name that starts with "A" (he used to work at Four Seasons - so sorry I can't remember your name - you were terrific!). They were incredibly kind and helpful. Our daughter is studying in Florence this semester & they offered to have her come by if she runs into any trouble even after we leave. Wow, that is really above & beyond and makes a Mom feel very happy. Breakfast was included in our rate & was very nice. I loved having olive foccacia with delicious olive oil and balsamic vinegar daily. There were also nice cheese and the best baked goods we had in Italy - including something I've only had in Italy which was an oval shaped sweet pastry made of rice. The location is very close to the Ponte Vecchio but enough away that you are out of the hordes of people and it feels less touristy. I would definitely say stay on this side of the bridge. Also very close to the hotel is Madova for gloves for Le Pelle for leather jackets. The concierge recommended La Carraia for gelato & it was delicious. About a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel. All in all, this is a very personal 5 star hotel. I think you will be very happy choosing to stay at Hotel Lungarno. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Return to perfection

Oct 18th, 2019

My wife and I returned to this amazing hotel in Florence. The location and physical structure would let one think these are the most important attributes of this 5 star hotel. But in reality it is the exceptional staff that constantly makes this the extraordinary hospitality experience that it is. Once again we found ourselves in the extremely capable hands of Lorenzo whos guidance for restaurants and helping us navigate our travel needs was flawless. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
