Absolutely would go again.. but..

Mar 1st, 2020

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were nice, tidy, clean and airy. We went bed and breakfast , the breakfast selection was nice. There was a lot to choose from. The staff were all lovely. Everybody was helpful It's not far from the beach, a ten minute walk maybe. Theres also a hyper market, we got a taxi there as I didnt fancy walking round ring roads etc. My only gripe and this was a huge one for me. The beds were so uncomfortable. I literally woke up in tears as it hurt so bad. Whilst the staff did their uonost the pad the bed out, it really was the worst bed I'd ever slept in. Having said that, I would go again. I'd take a mattress topper with me or an air bed. I genuinely loved the hotel that much. Pool was very cold though😖 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Decent week away

Feb 25th, 2020

Went away in February with my boyfriend, nice stay, rooms are not what they look like on the site, they're a bit shabby here and there but are clean. Only cleanliness problem was that some dirty trousers were left in wardrobe when we arrived. Other than that it was good, cleaners do a good job and are lovely. The hotel staff are a little bit blunt however there is a language barrier so it's to be expected, they do what they can. Breakfast we had every morning as we pre-booked but the food was stale and cold, its presented beautifully with a massive selection but the food was very low standard. Also very limited vegetarian food. Apart from this the hotel has some lovely touches, all reception and lounge areas are luxurious and smart, very welcoming. And our room had a great view, straight on to the caste and sea. weather for us was lovely and warm pretty much everyday however the locals of this area wear coats (so don't be put off). The beds were very comfortable too. There's an amazing shopping centre just across the road and a ten minute walk to the centre along the sea front which is really nice. The beach there is so nice! The hotel is in such a great area its just a little bit average. I was expecting more from what I read. All in all It was a decent stay away in a gorgeous area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don’t bother if you want to sleep.

Feb 16th, 2020

Stayed here and wow. What can I say? The hotel itself is ok whilst being average in all respects. Location not great, cleanliness of room not great, facilities not great but the noise from other rooms is outrageous. As I write this I am listening to someone from another room snoring like they are in my room. The noise must travel in all directions because I can now hear someone hammering the wall to try and stop the snorer.... when I tried to have a sleep earlier after a very early flight I can inform you that the woman in the room next door who likes singing along to country and western had lost track of the time.? I know this because She took a call and answered on speakerphone. The man who rang her was already in the pub and was on his second pint. I have stayed in all sorts of hotels over the last 40 years but this is a new level..... Did have the same hotel booked for the last night of the trip but have cancelled immediately... Very understanding, great service

Feb 7th, 2020

Was to stay in Hotel Maya at the end of our holiday. Unfortunately I had a bereavement in the family and had to cut the trip short, I phoned the hotel (spoke to Marina) and explained that we had to go back early and could I change the dates, this booking was non refundable. within minutes Marina got back to me and had booked us in for the next night. On arrival when I gave my name I was given condolences from the hotel and booked in very quickly. The Hotel and room was very clean with polite staff, diner was excellent and great value as was breakfast. We will be going back to the Alicante area many times as my daughter has an apartment down the coast and will be staying either on arrival or departure as the hotel is situated close to the airport bus stop making it a great place to stay if you have an early flight. Thank you so much for your kindness. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location and experience

Feb 5th, 2020

Stayed for a week in Jan/Feb with very warm weather (28° on last day). Hotel is well located - close to bus stop for line C6 to and from airport, within walking distance of other buses and tram stops taking you up and down the coast and into the city (but you can walk into the old town and to beach and marina). Castle (free entrance) accessible from just behind the MARC tram station, up a zig zag path in the shade in the mornings. Worth getting there early in the day (opens at 1000) and having a coffee on the cafe terrace. Room on 7th floor had great sea views and was immaculately cleaned each day. There was a covered balcony. Fridge in room and hired a kettle (€10 returnable deposit) so could make tea in the mornings. Bought two mugs for this from Alcampo shopping centre across 4 roads from hotel. Reception staff were always friendly and efficient, particularly Rubin. Didn't have any meals here so can't comment on restaurant. Also pool wasn't open as out of season. Only couple of small niggles - couldn't seem to get aircon to work but kept the door and windows open, and the mattresses were a little firm for us. A great hotel and will definitely return to Alicante and stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
