Great location! But terrible room (noisy) and awfull breakfast...

Feb 13th, 2020

The location is great, right around the corner from the Duomo and in the center of all the sights. Let me say first of all the staff was nice, they were kind and helpfull but the hotel and the rooms itself was not so good… The room was quite small and the shower was awfull. The showerhead was stuck to the wall so you can't really clean your whole body. The room had one sided glass, so we were up all night from all of the noises outside. the cleaning car that comes in the night time, it was like it was driving next to my head. And the clocks of the tower made sure you were up early... The pillow was really hard, and the bed also. Like i said the location was good, people were nice. but i would not book here again and i also would not recommend it. Don't even get me started on the breakfast, TERRIBLE. Who serves dry crackers, jam, and 4 old slices of bread and calls it breakfast? Not even an egg, or something to put on the hard bread other then jam... No cheese, belony, salami, nothing! This was very dissapointing. Coffee from the machine was also terrible, not what you would expect from Italy! The city taks that we had to pay in the end was also totally shameless, they had the nerve to ask for €4 per person per night for a crappy 2 star hotel.... Normally its 2 stars €2, 3 stars €3, etc. The only really great thing about this hotel, is the rooftop with amazing view. This alone made my review go from 1 to 2 stars. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Well located but minimum comfort

Dec 2nd, 2019

Extremely well located. Minimum comfort nothing fancy. A bed , a closed, a desk and bathroom. I found it correct for the price 40€. You will spend more time visiting and eating than in the room. Negative points are only cash and no noice insulation.. so you hear the inside and outside of the hotel. I highly advise earplugs. But, if I come back, I will definitely take it again. very bad hotel

Sep 19th, 2019

I was hosted in the hotel from 9th to 17th march 2019. It has a supperb location. Just that. The hotel is old, you can hear everything from the outside because the windows are old and the breakfast is very poor. The night before my departure, I wanted to do the check-out and they told me to pay before leaving. The next morning I payed the hotel and the city tax. I asked for a receipt. They said they would send to my email because the printer was out of order. I am wainting until now and I sent many emails asking for the receipts without any answer. I need it for my job. Worse than that, someone stole a beauty item from my room. It had never happened to me anything like that. They said it was impossible but I think, from the reaction of the staff, it was not the first time that happened... TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bitten to bits in the room!

Sep 17th, 2019

Upon entering the hotel room, it does look very old and hasn’t been decorated in a while. I thought, never mind, it’s just a place to stay- doesn’t need to be amazing. But the room was dirty, as was the bathroom. ‘Curtains’ in the bathroom were completely seethrough so anyone could see you showering. The balcony wouldn’t lock and it was shared, so anyone staying in another room could have pushed the balcony door open. No air con despite it being unbearable hot, just a fan in the corner of the room that made it even hotter. But worst of all, they have a serious bug problem. First day in Florence I went from the hotel and noticed huge bug bites all over my legs. I thought it was probably from outside so had to buy some medication from the pharmacy to stop the swelling. No more appeared that day, but the next morning after sleeping in a t-shirt they start appearing on my arms too! Definitely in the bed. Unimpressed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

It served its purpose

Aug 21st, 2019

I arrived in Florence late due to my plane being delayed. When I arrived at the hotel they put me up in an apartment a 5 minute walk away which was very basic. It did have ac but I couldn’t not find the remote to operate it. The next day they did find a room for me in the hotel. This was a comfortable room with basic amenities in the centre of the old town. Everything was within walking distance and there was no issue getting around the city. The hotel also has a lovely roof top bar with a fantastic view of the cathedral, this is open to all, not just the hotel customers and if is well worth going up to for a drink. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
