Beautiful Hotel, a little out of Aix en Provence

Aug 9th, 2019

Mercure Aix en Provence Sainte Victoire Hotel in Chateau Neuf le Rouge is a great place to stay. It has beautiful stone, buildings opposite a nice looking vineyard. It has a great courtyard, with a restaurant that serves an excellent evening meal. Our room was in one of the modern buildings and it was typical of a hotel of this class (quiet, comfortable bed, good bathroom) but it did have a small outdoor area attached to the room, which we utilised in the evening when it was no longer in direct sunshine. The pool was of a good size. The staff were great and very helpful. It does need to have a larger sign on the road so that you do not miss the hotel as you drive up. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A bit strange set up, not good restaurant

Mar 30th, 2019

A hotel that from some aspects could get a 4 since nice people overall, OK breakfast, spacious rooms, beautiful outside area. But from other aspects they certainly get a 2 or even 1, especially the restaurant. You cannot offer such grilled fish guys! Especially when you are in France. Anyway, I rated as Average and I believe that is a fair rating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great spot

I had the pleasure of staying at this little gem. Friendly staff and great restaurant. I had the duck. Everyone spoke English and they did their best to understand when I tried to speak French. Beautiful stone buildings with a nice courtyard and pool. I’ll bring my family here next time we travel to the south of France. Highly recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A hotel we have stayed in many times in last 10 years

Jan 16th, 2019

Have stayed in this hotel a few times a year for the last ten years. It is consistently clean and well maintained. Beds are comfortable, pillows and linen are good. Rooms are reasonably spacious and some have doors that open onto small enclosed gardens. We were fairly near reception this time and WiFi was good but can be erratic in some rooms. We had an issue with a banging shutter on a windy night that could have been handled better but it may have been a language problem as the word for shutter escaped us.... however the night guy could see what we were referring to from his desk area. Just a bit annoying as it was 2 in the morning and hubby had to go out in dressing gown and sort it out on a 3 degree night. Will forgive them this once and will continue to stay. Everything was fine

Jan 3rd, 2019

We stayed here while attending a wedding in the region, so didn't end up spending much time at the hotel, nonetheless, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel is situated very abruptly off the main road, making it hard to miss, despite this, the noise is reasonable. The views are stunning as the hotel is right next to the Ste Victoire mountain. There are walking trails nearby but we didn't get to try them. The hotel is fairly far out into the countryside so I can't imagine it being helpful if you were staying in the city of Aix itself, but it was convenient for the location of the wedding. Our room was ready when we arrived and had a lovely sun filled terrace that we enjoyed. The rest of the room had all we needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
