Won’t come again

There is a lot of noise right outside the hotel, the beds are a nightmare I haven’t gotten any good sleep since I came, the shower is installed weird so the water is everywhere. Not only are the madras bad, but the pillows and blankets (dyner) are bad too. When our neighbours visit the toilet the stink goes through the wall. And the tv are not installed so we can’t use the guide But the staff is sweet and everything is clean TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Lovely Hotel, great location and staff, but sadly some real issues.

We spent three nights at the Odinsve Hotel. The location was great and we were within walking distance of the pick up points for the three tours we had booked. The Hotel was actually very nice and the staff could not have been more helpful. HOWEVER - despite asking if all the rooms were quiet, when we checked in, we ended up in Rook 108 directly above the hotels restaurant called Snaps. The restaurant has a wooden floor and the chair feet have no protection - the result being that we couldn't sleep for the chairs scratching on the wooded floor every time a guest sat down or got up. Restaurant open until 11.30pm each evening. The bathroom/shower room was tiny! We are both very slim which was just as well as there was little or no room to move around and the shower was not very good. It was difficult to turn off and on The food was disappointing - breakfast hot dishes (bacon and scrambled egg) were cold and the chicken in the Caesar salad in the evening was not fully cooked. didn't return to the hotel until 12 midnight, after the time at which snaps closes. Whilst we would normally complain and ask to be moved to another room, (because of the noise from the restaurant and the tiny bathroom) we decided highly or wrongly, that it was too much of an upheaval and also could have meant more exposure in another room and to potential C19. Recently stayed at Hotel Odinsve with my husband . The room was a bit small but otherwise perfect with super comfy beds. The real jewel is the location. You could not ask for a more central spot. Five minute walk to Hallgrimskikja a Reykjavik focal point and bus stop for all tour buses and airport transfers. A few minutes from Laugavegur st, a main road full of restaurants, bars and shopping. Great location with nice staff

I recently stayed at Hotel Odinsve and was quite enjoyable. The hotel is very conveniently located in the city centre just a few minutes walk to the cathedral and just off the main high street in the old town. It was easy to walk to the places we wanted to visit. The room was nice with a lovely view of the cathedral. We also had the exit to a balcony (emergency stairs?) with a beautiful view. The bed is excellent. Had a great sleep! Nice warm duvets that make an excellent sleep after a walk in the cold. The bathroom is nice and has good hair drier. There is no body lotion for my surprise. The food at the restaurant downstairs was average. I DO NOT recommend the steak there :) The reception staff were very nice and very helpful. Thank you! BTW, The minibar could use some extra biscuits or snacks beside chocolate. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
