Another Great Stay

We spent one night at HPC while passing through Albuquerque. This was our fourth time staying here and we were very pleased with our experience. The hotel was full, but you would not have known that from the quiet corridors, the easily available shuttle and the calm breakfast area. The downside is that HPC is right by I-25 and our room was right by the road. So, we used our ear plugs and had a very fine night's sleep. The location is close to several interesting restaurants as well. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very bad experience and lack of Management response

I would think twice, three times, and four and more before you decide to stay at the Hotel Parq Central. If you do decide to, make sure you ask and receive in writing that : 1. You pay for it so you should be able to use their amenities as advertised and 2. If they do have a wedding and tell you that they have provided a room far away from any potential noise that they guarantee (again in writing) that they actually do, and most importantly, 3. If you do reach out to discuss your concerns that they actually address them or at least have the courtesy of talking to you! We had made reservations for one night prior to our early flight out of Albuquerque. If I had known what I know now I would have stayed at the hotels that are right outside of the airport. Upon arrival at the front desk, shortly after 5pm, we were told that there was a wedding about to get underway. We were told that the outside deck would be busy since the wedding party was having a pre-wedding party between 5:30 – 6:30pm. We had planned on showering and then watching the sunset from the deck. Their advertisement of the deck on their website overlooking the town is what caught my attention in the first place. The front desk said that we could go out there. They just wanted us to know that it would be busy. They also stated that they placed us in a room that was far away from the wedding party so that we would not be disturbed. Both were so far from the truth. After showering we hurried to the 5th floor deck to catch the sunset. Once we arrived and attempted to walk out to the deck we were stopped by an arrogant staff member who turned out to be the Food & Beverage Director. He refused to let us go out on the deck. He said it was exclusively reserved by the Wedding party. I told him that the Front Desk specifically said we could. He just waived his hands and pointed to the inside bar and would have nothing to do with it. We couldn’t believe it. Intimidated, we had to wait inside until the wedding party left. Once they left at 6:30PM, we went onto the deck. Unfortunately, we missed the sunset! Once out there, we were told by the same person that the rear section (the best part of the deck) was reserved for another party and we were told to go to a different section if we wanted to get a seat! We couldn’t believe what was happening! At that point we just said to ourselves, let’s just go. I would be more forgiving if they actually showed any sense of remorse when I attempted to contact management once we returned home. I had mentioned what happened on the deck to the staff at the front desk, immediately after, and they simply said, “Sorry for the misunderstanding”! Really? They were young and it wouldn’t do any good to pursue it any further at that time. It was getting late and we wanted to go out to eat and get to bed. Upon our return home, I sent them two emails describing what happened and asked them to call my cell to discuss. I felt a conversation would be more meaningful than emails. After no reply to my two emails, I called and asked for the manager. They transferred me to his voice mail. I left a message and the next day I received an email from a different person who didn’t address 99% of our concerns. They simply stated that they spoke to the food & beverage director and he recalled suggesting that we find a chair in a different section because the area was reserved! They never addressed the fact that he wouldn’t allow us out there between 5:30 – 6:30 as well as the front desk placing us in a room next to the wedding party which kept us up all night. I responded once again with my concerns and received no response. It has been well over a week, at this point. Then, how ironic was it that I received an automated email from the hotel thanking me for staying there. The email doesn’t ask you to provide a review. I wonder why. However, it is electronically signed by their Managing Director. So, I wanted to give them another chance to discuss. I sent all the previous correspondence and again I have received no response. I’m shocked by the lack of their concern and their response. Also, they told me they would send my receipt to my email upon checkout. Never received that either. I wish I could have written a nice review but the management doesn’t deserve it.
