Only if you're desperate

Apr 16th, 2019

Almost every aspect of this hotel is poor. -no elevator with 4 stories -rooms and hallway smelled of smoke -covers and walls were stained -room service only makes the bed and takes the trash from the one trashcan in the bathroom. no cleaning -bugs, especially in the bathroom -deteriorating furniture and appliances (sink had bad chipping, fridge was moldy, chairs and table were stained and scratched) -next to a strip club (not child-friendly) -cigarettes littered the entrance -staff were constantly on their phones even when trying to talk to them The hotel does have a phenomenal location, next to various restaurants and a block away from the metro. This place is cheap, but even for $10 more a night you can find a much better hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unfriendly to Americans

Apr 6th, 2019

It was the week of the marathon in Montreal in September, 2018. it looks like a quaint nice little hotel there was 20 stairs straight up before you got to the lobby I had to carry two suitcases that were very heavy up those stairs I got to the lobby the three guys running it we’re not very friendly ...I should’ve just turned around and left ..,I asked them if they had Wi-Fi they said yes , a lie.. I said I would like a room they said it would be $150 and then I had to pay upfront that was my first mistake I paid $150 upfront on my credit card ...I climbed to the third-floor I opened the door well first of all let me say the room is filthy dirty it’s smelled disgusting I had also asked if it was air-conditioned but I guess it wasn’t and the smell was nasty and dirty the bed looked terrible I wouldn’t even sit on it I looked at my fiancé and I said we’re not staying in this place also I checked the Wi-Fi and we had no service so I walked back downstairs ...the three guys again are checking people in ignoring me I said hey I’d like to get my money back and leave they could care less at that point I didn’t care and I just dropped the keys behind the front desk.. they could care less that I left and I could care less also.. I just want to make sure everyone knows they’re not friendly to Americans they look down at me I would never go back please don’t go anywhere near that place unless you want the same story for yourself ...Read a few other reviews just read them... does not deserve any stars ... Bad service, dirty place, bugs.

Dec 2nd, 2018

I stayed here severral times due to location (near bus depot) and cost. However it is not worth it even it was free. The staff are sarcastic and rude. I booked rooms through a travel website and when I got to the hotel they wanted me to pay them direct and tell the website I never stayed. Then they would say I am a no show. I paid cash so they probably pocketed it and I could be charged by the website for a no show. Then the hotel would collect twice for the same room. The bedding smells like cologne and musty and needs a good wash. There are yellow stains on the bedding and some blood stains too. Not hygenic. I noticed some small bugs crawling around in the bathroom sink last time I stayed there. The breakfast is not that great. Often the croissants are stale. It is in the basement of the hotel so if you are on a higher floor you have to walk a lot of stairs. No elevators in this hotel. And they have four floors and basement. The rooms in the basement are gross. I stayed in 1 once and never again. Very noisy guests in the hotel too. I heard young children screaming and running around at 2am in the morning and a couple phyically fighting in another room. The staff do not care much about it as long as they get their money. \ Avoid this place. It is a true dump. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible service. Stinky rooms. Bugs too.

Dec 1st, 2018

I stayed here a few times and the staff are super rude. One staff kept touching his crotch while talking to me. There were tiny bugs in the bathroom in , 1 room and the bedspreads stunk of smelly armpits and b.o. other rooms smelled of cologne and I had to buy spray to get rid of the odor. Last time I was there the room next to me had a couple yelling and physically fighting. I told the staff and he said they weren't fighting on check in. So? That doesn't mean they won't fight later. The staff kept implying it's my fault I don't like the rooms. Why should I like them He knows full well they're bad rooms. He uses the travel websites to get clients and then to avoid paying commission to the websites he asks guests to pay him direct.and he advised guests to lie to the website and say they never stayed at the hotel. What a crook. Avoid this hole. It stinks in more ways than one. Y TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, and well located budget option

Nov 9th, 2018

I got this room at a very low price, so I wasn't really expecting much. However it was clean, ensuite, had fast, free wifi, they provided plenty of towels, and they provided some basic toiletries. You can't ask for much more for $33 a night. Although the rooms were non smoking, there was definitely the smell of cigarette smoke in the hotel, if this really bothers you, you might want to look elsewhere. The location is approximately 5 mins walk from a metro station on 3 lines, and is literally surrounded by bars and places to eat. So you won't go hungry or get bored here. The downside to that is that it's quite noisy outside with drunk people shouting and generally having fun, loudly, at 2am. On the whole though, I'd definitely recommend at a low price. I see others have paid up to $100 a night in peak season, I would definitely be disappointed if I'd paid that too. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
