Great Location

Oct 21st, 2020

This is is a lovely hotel in a great location overlooking the sea. In a quiet location though only a short stroll from the historical centre of Sorrento. Comfortable beds in nicely decorated/furnished room - we also booked a sea view with a balcony - though imagine the other rooms were just as nice! Nice buffet breakfast with selection of cereals & plentiful selection of cakes/pastries meats/cheese & fruit. There was also hot bacon & scrambled eggs each morning. The breakfast room had the most amazing view of the coast & also overlooked Vesuvius. We didn’t get round to using the pool area but was quite small so imagine it could be quite busy in the height of the season & may not be enough sun beds for everyone but was a very attractive area. The hotel also arranged a private return transfer from & to Naples airport at a cost of 100 euros each way, which made the journey hassle free & the hotel collected payment in cash for this service. I would personally recommend this hotel over one of the larger properties in the area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disengaged Staff

Sep 29th, 2020

Plenty of positives about this hotel, not least its location right on the sea front and walking distance of the town. I would have awarded a 3 but the poor check out experience just confirmed other below par interactions which drags this down. Some staff were lovely: Lucia on our check in for eg, but sadly, others didnt seem to have the same ethos. For eg, breakfast routinely opened c. 10 mins later than advertised - yet never an apology or even an ackowledgement.Room attendants were similarly disengaged with guests and not overly effective either - twice we had to go to reception to pick up shower gel as there was none left in the room. Also, whilst in quite good nick, on arrival we discovered our shower was broken; then the safe. Both were fixed quickly but equally both gave the appearance of having seen better days. Overall, the place lacks a bit of atmosphere with the bar completely unused while we stayed. Also, given the appalling weather remaining at the hotel for dinner would have been a welcome option - only it wasn't due to the lack of a restaurant. And so the check out. I requested a copy of my bill be emailed to me as I need an electronic copy for a claim only for the guy on reception to be completely dismissive telling me I had a paper copy. How hard or unusual is it to email a copy invoice these days? Per above though, kind of representative of the general malaise infecting the place which is a shame because with more enthusiastic staff this place would be OK. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place to stay

Sep 27th, 2020

We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the hotel. The room was very comfortable and well equipped ( though as a Brit I would have liked tea making facilities in our room). The breakfast was wonderful and it was great to eat outside with a stunning view of Vesuvius. The pool area is not huge but it was fine for us. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only issue was the very high cost of the drinks by the pool and in the rooftop bar. Well over the top. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Perfect location, excellent service

Aug 18th, 2020

Fantastic hotel, just a couple of things that marked it down from 5 stars - Pros - Location is superb, at the quieter end of Sorrento on the way to Marina Grande - service was superb throughout, all the staff are amazing - sea view room is the way to go if you can: the views across the bay to Naples and Vesuvius are spectacular - per friendly and they don’t overcharge you - great breakfast setup in a room overlooking Vesuvius - rooms were spotlessly clean Cons - pool area is great, but it’s too small for the number of people the hotel can accommodate. During August in Sorrento, if you haven’t booked a sun bed on one of the beaches, the pool is your only option and if it’s full... - no gym Overall, a really nice hotel, I’d stay here again for sure TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Two years ago, my daughter and I stayed at Hotel Regina. Last year my husband and I came back to Hotel Regina. And we will definitely be back next year! Hopefully, we will bring the whole family. Hotel Regina is in a perfect location! You can walk right down to Marina Grande and enjoy any of the amazing restaurants on the water. It is walking distance to the shopping and restaurants in the center of Sorrento. The view from the restaurant and the the rooftop is Spectacular! The hotel and the rooms are very clean! The staff is friendly and efficient! Antonino made our dinner reservations every night, and he also booked our boat tour of Capri. Grazie, Antonino! The breakfast is fabulous! Everything is fresh and delicious. We sat on the terrace overlooking the sea and Mount Vesuvius. A special thank you to Giuseppe, the headwaiter at breakfast. He is always there to make sure we have everything we need. Grazie, Giuseppe! We give Hotel Regina 5 Stars! Grazie! Giuseppa P. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
