Relaxing, just right and safe, but..

Aug 17th, 2019

We did have a nice visit, being our first time in Aruba. Grounds are clean, safe and very relaxing, no rowdiness, people are well behaved, place is quiet by a reasonable time in the evening. Staff was very nice, especially at the spa, and restaurants. They were helpful with taxis, tours and anything else. Entertainment is grade school caliber, don’t waste your time with that. Hotel itself, I expected a bit more Disappointing part was at checkout, at noon, and shuttle picks you up later, they can’t get the bracelet off you fast enough (the all inclusive bracelet) like you were never there, maybe was a bad time.. An enjoyable stay, great service in a fabulous location. Hotel could do with some modernising and slightly noisy at night in the hotel room corridors. It was a shame that there was queuing in the evening for the outside restaurant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great vacation

We absolutely had the best time staying at The Riu Antilles. The buffet was so good and the entertainment was good! Our room was very clean and we had a partial view of the ocean which was very nice. All of the staff at the hotel that we dealt with were amazing! Particularly Dany! Our flight had been delayed a day so we were able to extend our trip by extending our flight home by a day and Dany went above and beyond to help us extend our stay at the hotel. Can't thank him enough for all that he did. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Aruba Vacation

The RIU Antillas was amazing!!! The room was clean the bed was comfortable and the view was gorgeous! The food and drinks were great!!! Unfortunately the month prior to our trip we had a motorcycle mishap and I had a large burn on my calf and was unable to enjoy the pools or the beach 🏖. We are going again in 48 days for a do-over and I can’t wait to enjoy the ocean and the pools. Totally recommend. The staff is amazing and the people are so happy and friendly!!! A great vacation experience

My husband and I booked the Antillas kind of last minute, after cancelling our original planned trip to the Dominican Republic. We had stayed at the RIU Palace in Cabo a couple years prior, so we felt confident about booking with RIU again. I'll just state the most obvious right off the bat. This RIU isn't physically as glamorous as most, but I knew that going into it. We had the option of booking the Palace next door, rich is leaps and bounds much more "Posh", but we were adamant about keeping it adults only. In all fairness the Antillas wasn't originally a RIU, so you can only expect so much. That aside, the service was every bit as good as our previous stay at a RIU! The dining options were also decent. You can never go wrong with the buffet, as they always have something for everyone. The Italian themed Remi or Remini was very good, we ate there twice. The Krystal was exactly like the one in Cabo which I enjoyed. The Aruban was ok, but was my least favorite, though my steak and appetizer was good. The Beach House Steak house is always hard to get into, so I recommend getting there no later then six if you want to get into the first seating at 6:30. The steak house was "good", actually better than Cabo but not all its cracked up to be. The Tortilla chips in the Ceviche were seriously stale, and our waiter didn't seem quite as on his toes compared to all of the others. Still the steak itself was good and it made for a pretty sunset dinner on our last night! If you want all inclusive adults only this is a good option. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
