The most Magnificent & Opulent hotel in Vienna

Jul 15th, 2019

I am really very impressed with this hotel, stay in one of their signature suites for 5 nights which was newly renovated. I love the fire place which makes the suite so cosy . It is at a great location just opposite the Opera and in the middle of all the shopping. What makes this such a great hotel? The staff of course, excellent service all round. Always willing to help in any request. Special mention for Vera from front office, who went the extra mile to get the best room to suit my request. The man at the door who is so welcoming, Mislimi. And Edward at the concierge too. If you like a place in Vienna that makes you feels special, this is the place to stay. Will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

5 stars most of the time, but 4 at most when cruisers invade!

Jul 14th, 2019

We had a lovely first day at the Sacher. The staff couldn't have been nicer. The concierge was EXCELLENT. The hotel is gorgeous, historic but with modern amenities, beautiful rooms, and great air conditioning (I see other reviews that question the ac, but it was more than enough for us!). However, the calm and excellent service was compromised when a group of cruisers from a Viking cruise invaded the hotel. Lines for breakfast were long. Food ran out. The staff seemed overwhelmed and anxious. I think we all breathed a sigh of relief when the cruisers left the building. Note to management: If you are going to accommodate cruisers, please increase your staff so that it doesn't impact those of us expecting a 5 star hotel experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Luxurious hotel

Jul 11th, 2019

We were on the Viking River Cruise and a boat hit and broke a lock on the river. Viking put us up in this beautiful plush room with crystal chandeliers and TV built into the bathroom mirror and hidden in the mantel of the fire place. Lots of lovely furnishings and fruit, and candy and Sacher wrapped cakes”tortes” invited us to relax and enjoy! The candy was yummy and the chocolate torte was moist and delicious. Yes they had chocolate soap, shampoo and conditioner but all I had to do was ask and I got another fragrance brought to my room. We ate in the lovely plush dining room with a buffet of multiple fruit, cheeses, cakes, breads, veggies, and eggs and sausages in warmers and much more. Delicious! think the staff was overwhelmed with such a large crowd but they were very polite and kind. My only recommendation is: get coffee quicker to the tables I believe they made each cup individually and that took a lot of time. ( at least 30 minutes) Americans like a whole pot of coffee on the table and will help themselves! Also Americans are much nicer and more patience after coffee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Opulence Abounds

Jul 3rd, 2019

We stayed at the Sacher for 2 nights and were amazed at the elegant chandeliers, furniture and paintings decorating the hotel. We stayed on the first floor and our room was elegant but with all the high tech innovations. It was almost a challenge to figure out what switch did what! Food was excellent but service was a bit slow today. It seems that the hotel is almost too big for itself and could use more staff. The AC in our room worked ok and could have been cooler, but you could only dial it do so far. Over all, a beautiful and historic hotel. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance to many attractions!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Top Class Hotel!

Jul 2nd, 2019

I’m impressed. This has to be one of the finest hotels in the world and I’ve been to some of the best. Everything about the Sacher is first class from the moment you walk in. The staff are friendly, efficient and welcoming and will attend to your every need. Suite 106 is comfortable and superbly appointed, complete with a luxurious bathroom, and it’s clear that no expense has been spared . While overlooking a busy street the room is so quiet one would think they were in the middle of a forest, and the air conditioning is quiet and effective. The only thing I need now is an excuse to return to Vienna. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
