Mediterranean Magic

Jan 16th, 2020

The Santa Caterina Hotel is a magnificent hotel, a part of the magic that is the Amalfi Coast. The location is a breathtaking marvel; the hotel is perched high in the cliffs above the Tyrrhenian Sea, boasting spectacular views that neither words nor photos can do justice. Stroll through the gorgeous, meandering terrace gardens nestled in the cliffs. Like a secret garden revealing mysteries along the way, all sorts of plants and flowers are tended with loving care. Experience the intoxicating scent of jasmine blossoms in the salty evening air. Other treats abound. The seaside pool is stunning. The brunch is delicious and plentiful. Crisp linen sheets and Bvlgari toiletries are certain pleasantries along the way. The staff is exceedingly gracious, uncommonly kind and dedicated to ensuring every detail of old world charm meets with your delight. Alfredo was the consummate host as we enjoyed Prosecco on the terrace during the first night of our honeymoon in Amalfi. Get lost along the way and find yourself held by the rapture and romance of one of the most unique and special places in the world. The feeling was perfect, the experience amazing...one that will linger with fond remembrance for a very long time. We will return someday. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One of the best hotel I ever been. Italian classic

Dec 27th, 2019

It’s very difficult to write a review about one of the best hotels in the world. I’m sure the other reviewers already told about the private lemon plantation, stunning views, fantastic restaurants with the freshest seafood and fish, beautiful rooms with unique design. I’d like to write about the ladies and gentlemen of the hotel. It’s not just a team, it’s a big family. Every time we come back to this place, we see the same people. Every member of the staff knows who you are, what you want, what you need. There is a feeling that they have enough staff to serve 150% of the hotel’s capacity. They are ready to execute any request. And that’s why you feel yourself home and you want to come back again and again. 5 star rating is really not enough. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

AMAZING HOTEL BUT PLEASE FIX THE SCRATCHY LINENS!

Nov 17th, 2019

Decided to stay at the Santa Caterina when we were unable to get into Il San Pietro (we wanted to revisit our honeymoon hotel but booked too late). Gorgeous hotel with incredible views. What makes this hotel so special is that it is right on the water... their "beach club" by the pool has lounge chairs that overlook the sea and roped off areas to swim in the water. Private boats also pull up directly to the beach club area. We were very happy that we chose to stay here! Only negative, as another reviewer mentioned, the bed linens are linen and very scratchy, even the pillow cases. I am not sure I would have been able to stay there for more than a couple of nights. PLEASE CHANGE THE LINENS!!! Amalfi is a cute town, although Ravello was more quaint and less crowded. Positano was in fact a total zoo in August and we were disappointed when we spent the evening there. Santa Caterina provides a shuttle to the town center (5 min ride). Staff is very nice. Make sure you buy trip insurance!!! We had to delay our stay due to catching a 24 hour flu in Rome and was still charged 60% for that missed night. We did get our money back however through our trip insurance. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nel blu dipinto di blu

Beautiful property located on a steep hill overlooking the stunning blue Amalfi’s waters. We stayed only for a night and I must say we would have loved to stay longer. The room was beautifully decorated with a large gorgeous marble bathroom. BVLGARI amenities and perfect linen. We had lunch by the beach... 🏝 yum.... followed by dinner at the fine dining terrace restaurant. Food was great and so were the wines. Attentive service and truly elegant atmosphere. A small boutique jewel for the true connoisseurs. Understated elegance at its best TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Most fantastic hotel ever

Oct 28th, 2019

This was a perfect week at the most marvellous Hotel helped by the bright sunshine that enabled us to sit on our lovely balcony with a front uninterrupted view of the Mediterranean Sea and the picturesque town of Amalfi to our left. Everything at the Hotel was perfect. The staff were wonderful at all levels, The breakfast had a wide selection of hot and cold items and individual cooked meals of whatever we asked for, We enjoyed sitting on our private pool area accessed by a lift carved in the rock that seemed to go down for ever. We were greeted by the pool staff with towels and wherever we wanted to sit with shade or sun. Every so often the staff would come and adjust our umbrellas so we could stay in the shade or get more sun The inside of the Hotel was very pleasing on the eye especially at night when many candles were lit giving it a marvellous atmosphere The reception staff were always available to give us any help needed and there was a courtesy bus which operated totally on time every half hour which took us to the centre of Amalfi. Can't think of anything negastive about this splendid hotel TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
