Family ski vacation

Dec 26th, 2020

Well located four star hotel with spa. Our family of five stayed here this past week during Christmas. Good location Nice spa Massage possibilities: (Ask for Denise the masseuse who’s there on Tuesday & Thursday afternoons)! She was FAR better than the Slovenian masseuse. Generally quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. However, it seems this hotel could benefit from renovations. Small bathrooms with only one sink! No tea kettle in rooms! Shame! Meals (only one set menu) were good but just too long! We ate out most times. The staff not so pleasant! We felt the most pleasant were the porter! Tiago from Portugal. The German lady at the bar was also pleasant. The others need to learn more about customer service! Seems that return guests benefit from more customer attention which isn’t surprising. However, during difficult times due to Covid extra efforts need to be made. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The staffs are the STAR to make a wonderful stay!

Jun 23rd, 2020

This hotel chain is well known so I know what to expect such as convenient location, good service, nice facility, etc. But the best selling point this time round for this hotel are the staffs, particularly Davide. From the beginning and throughout the stay, he has been extremely courteous, responsive and professional in his communication. With his thoughtful effort and enthusiasm, he made special request possible and everything worked out smoothly and swiftly! Other than that, spa is good. Breakfast (perhaps adding labels to the food would be good) and dinner are good with choices. Room is comfortable and clean. Free pick/drop off to the parking as Saas-Fee is car free area. Hotel interior could do some refurbishing but still cosy enough. It is definitely a great stay overall! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Needs renovation

Mar 9th, 2020

Arrived hotel in early evening - went to the restaurant, ordered meal. The waiter serving us was really odd, actually quite rude. He must have had an issue as the following days he seemed to have "recovered" but it was a strange start to our sejour here. The hotel is ok value for money. Some staff were good, some were just so stressed out and totally not a happy bunch, not much in the way of greeting ( the guys who drive the shuttle - big shout out and lady cleaner for my room was so nice ) The shuttle to ski runs on half hours. ROOM Clean Good size with balcony . No Carpet ( I always find this good) bed - hard, inexpensive mattress No kettle- provided on request Brand used for amenities was mediocre BREAKFAST Everything is there - but nothing special. SPA pool - acceptable size hamman area-place was in need of a good renovation and new furniture Did not feel that it was that clean. I went and decided to leave :( best have a nice shower in my room :) GYM Need renovation SKI ROOM Boot warmers / Ski racks Acceptable - but need renovation SAVE THE PLANET +still using plastic straws +no little amenity bottles +refill glass bottles for water I found the price of the hotel was reasonable value. Hotel in need of renovation and staff require training. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good price vs. quality value

Jan 24th, 2020

We found the hotel overall quite fine, with spacious and clean rooms, very good breakfast choice, well situated in between the lifts (walking distance to Hannig and Spielboden). The downsides are the following: (i) vary hard bed mattress - good/healthy for people on a heavier side, but not necessarily for an average female; (ii) area around the swimming pool needs a bit of a clean-up - the plastic parts of the pool were popping out of their places and part of the floor was covered in wooden tiles that seemed too big and were overreaching edges of the pool; (iii) very inconsistent service at breakfast - on some days the service was quick and attentive, on some we had to wait for a while to be seated and served (and that with overall the same number of other guests in the breakfast room). One other thing that surprised us was the fact that the staff was not saying hello - you could come downstairs, pass by the reception - no one cared. I have to admit I didn’t mind this approach as I’m not a big fan of saying hi to strangers but still-it was surprising as I can’t remember staying at any other place that would ignore guests to this extent. In one of the reviews someone wrote that this hotel has a preference for German-speaking guests. I would say the preference is rather towards older guests in general (who were e.g. served quicker at breakfast even when coming after us). Nonetheless, all the above issues are quite minor. We found the standard of this hotel to correspond quite well with the price which overall makes the stay a positive experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The gourmand's choice in Saas Fee

Aug 7th, 2019

A well-run, well-staffed classic hotel close to the village centre. I like the friendly service and the great food and facilties on offer here. The mid-week BBQ on the terrace is a highlight for me. You are very close to the lifts and walks here. Recommended! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
