Older, but renovated -- great location -- pricey parking

Jan 27th, 2020

Have stayed at the ZaZa about once a year and always is a very comfortable and relaxing stay. The hotel is older and very established, but is well maintained. The beds are comfortable. I wish there were private coffee makers in the room, although each floor has complete coffee & tea service near the elevators. The location of the ZaZa is great -- near Rice Univ, museums, and medical district... even the NRG center is fairly close. Only complaint is the excessive overnight parking charge. Impressive.............and unique!

Jan 22nd, 2020

We were in Houston for a wedding, and "stepped up" to stay with a group at the ZaZa. Very impressed with the small feel of the hotel, and unique "artsy/eclectic" atmosphere. Enjoyed our room with a great view west, including Rice University. Loved the nice touch of coffee available in the hallway each morning, plus energy bars and candy in the lobby. Great location for museums, Rice U., medical center. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible

Jan 16th, 2020

Hotel has serious infrastructure issues. Toilet back -ups and has been shutting off water every night last two weeks. But today is the worse -- no water at all. It was suppose to be turned on again at 5:30am -- but never came back on all morning. No toilet water to flush waste - no water to wash and clean up for the day. This is worse than a 3rd word country. They cannot even say when the water will be turned back on!!! Health issues! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Worth a stay!

The hotel is so much fun with its art everywhere - even in the elevators. Check in and check out was a breeze. Overall staff were very helpful - valet, etc. Our room was lovely with fine linens. The bathtub needed grab bars! Room service breakfast was very good. We wanted to order room service the second day, but no tag was left to hang on the door. We called two times and were told someone would bring one right up. It never arrived. That was our one disappointment. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
