Very unpleasant

Aug 5th, 2019

Two executive canal view rooms. One smelled like a sewer, the other no air conditioning all night. Staff attended to a/c twice. Still hot as can be while sleeping. Can’t open windows due to mosquitoes from canal. No screens. Staff extremely unpleasant when brought up negative comments and refused to let us out of three night reservation. Checked out after one night. Hotel offer inadequate and inappropriate to compensate for no sleep. Great view but can’t open window and very good breakfast. Bar smelled and was stuffy and musty . Wonderful hotel in historic building

Jul 28th, 2019

We splurged for the last 3 nights of our month away with an executive room with a canal view. What a wonderful room it was with a lovely view, a fabulously comfy bed and a great bathroom. There was a big bath as well as a separate shower. it was a little unusual to have the toilet in the shower recess but the area was so big there was really no problems. Note that while the rooms are serviced daily, there is an extra charge if you are after an evening turn down. As this is obviously meant to make guests more environmentally aware, the lack of towel racksto encourage re-use is a little confusing. The wifi strength was adequate. The hotel is only a 5 minute stroll from the market square. The staff were very attentive. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay with family

Jul 21st, 2019

The hotel location is perfect. Situated along the canal and in the heart of Bruges. We stayed for two nights and three days during a family cycling trip. The front desk staff were friendly and welcoming even though we arrived to the hotel sweaty and a bit dirty from cycling all day. Hotel rooms offer plenty of room, are in excellent condition and have an old world charm. Bathrooms are modern and with all the amenities you expect. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast each morning with something for everyone. Restaurants, shops and activities all within walking distance. The city is all cobble stone so bring good walking shoes. Hotel staff was very helpful and always kind as we had some complicated transportation requests. They went above and beyond for us. I highly recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Towel Racks?

Jul 7th, 2019

This is a really nice hotel with super-friendly staff and spacious rooms for a European hotel. It seems to be the place to stay for many famous people as the picture wall in the entrance area shows (e.g. it accommodated the likes of Ralph Fiennes and Colin Farrell when they were there to shoot “In Bruges”). The only thing that was a little irritating was that there were no towel racks in the (also very spacious) bathroom at all. So no way to reuse your towel. I understand this is a high-end place but that does not mean folks in there do not care about the environment. The room (232) was on the side of the building with view of another roof. This was perfectly fine as a canal view was a bit pricier. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel, great location.

Jun 13th, 2019

Wonderful hotel right on the canal in the center of Bruges, I couldn't have picked a more perfect location. The room was nice, and had wonderful views out over the canal. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The only downside was that our bathroom had a bit of a sewage smell to it, which the hotel assured us was a result of the canal, the time of year and the pipes. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
