Noisy and not worth the price

Jan 23rd, 2020

I stayed here for 1 night and I was given a different room than the one I’ve booked. The room was on the ground floor, extremely noisy from people waking around the lobby and from outside. Bathroom really old, a refurbish would be needed in my opinion. Location is very good. Breakfast not worth it as they have very little food choice and only americano coffee. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Lovely Small Hotel, Great Location and Service

Jan 19th, 2020

I stayed here last week (January 11-16) and, especially in the midst of the Paris strikes, found this hotel to be so well located that you could walk to everything. I found it clean, comfortable, with an excellent, abundant breakfast that would send you on your way for most of the day. The staff was super helpful, especially Gwenn at the front desk, who helped me arrange transit to the airport as well as provide recommendations for local restaurants. I say this without snarkiness -- but if you're a large/bulky person, be aware the bathrooms and the elevator are small. It's a charming place in a historic location, so it's worth the upgrade for a little more space. Again, I could not recommend this place more highly. Looking forward to staying again upon my return someday. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A great disappointment

Jan 10th, 2020

We were attracted to this hotel as a result of the quirky exterior as well as the location. I am not a fan of large impersonal hotels and spend time looking for unusual boutique style places to stay. As a result, I found myself studying the reviews here which were surprisingly good! So I booked a ‘comfort room.’ The most expensive, I believe and described as a twin or double room. At a cost of approximately €200 for one night. Arrived between 3.30-4pm, room just being finished- the lady cleaning it was in there. I felt this was a little poor. My first surprise was the additional single bed in the room, giving it a hostel style appearance (!) certainly hadn’t booked OR wanted a triple room. In fact when I booked it I added the message that this was a special occasion & I would appreciate the best room possible, happy to upgrade. Zero regard was paid to that. I immediately checked online the availability to see if I could get another room. There were none so I decided to get on and make the best of it. Enter the bathroom to see splash marks around the tiles which I cleaned myself, though I cannot say the room/bed linen or bathroom were unclean. The towels were old, I guess they were once white, before they became so threadbare as to be actual holey in places. WHO GIVES GUESTS TOWELS WITH HOLES? The toilet roll was so cheap as to be almost transparent; a false economy as simply the useage gets doubled. However the most inconvenient thing was the shower head that couldn’t be moved into any other position, when fixed in its housing, than of having it facing the right hand side of the shower wall. Indeed, thee plastic holding rail had seized, making it impossible to rotate the shower head itself, while in a static position. I was unable to easily wash my hair or shave my legs. This fault was coupled with the use of a cheap piece of flexi tube delivering the water supply to the nozzle which had then obviously warped into place - presumably because the shower head had become seized into place some time ago. This became an issue when having to use the shower head hand-held (the only way one could shower effectively with it). The icing on the cake was being left one single milk portion with our two tea bags, and the fact they had forgotten to resupply the room with complimentary bottles of water. We simply helped ourselves to the water when we saw them lying in the cleaning bags sat outside the rooms, on our way to check out, the following morning. Some good points; the bed was comfy, there was a decent fan in the room, to keep the air circulating and most surfaces were clean. This is a hotel where all the money has been spent on the exterior, including the ground floor, making it look good at a casual glance but the absolute minimum of care is given to the rooms or to make the stay an enjoyable one. By stark contrast, we spent a night in a hotel in London for a similar price that was really luxurious and lovely. We come to Paris quite regularly but we will not return to this hotel. A hotel unique in its warm intimacy and location in a historic district not overrun by tourists

Jan 4th, 2020

We have stayed two nights in transit at Hotel Jeanne d'Arc several times in the last years and have always found the hotel itself and its location relaxing. The staff are helpful and friendly, the rooms we have had were quiet and comfortable and the breakfast very satisfying. There is a wide selection of bistros and restaurants in the immediate vicinity and also many places of historic interest. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Jeanne d'Arc on two different occasions this summer. We'll definitely be back! The staff is extremely accommodating, the neighborhood charming and centrally located, with quick access to the metro. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
