Proximity and Treats

Jan 19th, 2020

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. We really enjoyed The Corner, a snack and lounge area stocked with three daily newspapers, beverages and a wide variety of food, including trail mix, granola bars, candy, fruit and nuts. The desk personnel were super nice and accommodating. We checked out and they kept our luggage until we left for the airport in the afternoon. The elevators were fast and the wait was short. There is a restaurant and bar adjoining the hotel. Our one complaint was the bedding. Our pillows were very flat and we didn’t have a top sheet, only a bottom sheet and a comforter. The shower was spacious with plenty of hot water. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Unfriendly staff

Jan 17th, 2020

On arrival, I had to carry 3 suitcases myself from taxi into the hotel. The hotel staffed stared from the other side of the door but did not help. For room service requests, the staff that arrived always seemed unpleasant and unhappy with their jobs. I remember one lady came twice for my room service requests but never responded to my thank you greetings, she would just turn her face from the door and leave. All this after a long tiring journey is just sad to experience. Moreover, the hotel lacks a proper lobby. Its a small area with a check-in desk and a huge painting on the wall. There is a separate desk dedicated for World of Hyatt members but that is always empty. There is just one person who manages check-in for all guests. That separate queue and desk for World of Hyatt is just a show-off. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Favorable hotel surprise in Chicago!

Jan 16th, 2020

As an avid business and personal traveler I was just recently positively surprised by my first stay in the Hyatt Centric in Chicago. The hotel was booked for me by our corporate travel department and appeared fairly new, or at east recently renovated. Rooms were in light colors, modern, with European feel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Compared to my typical experiences in the US with Hilton and Marriott quite an upgrade. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

5 star stay - just perfect!

Jan 15th, 2020

Solid 5 stars!! Here's why: -Cochon restaurant ( third party and could charge to my room). Incredible bar service, delicious food and The Prisoner Red Blend by-the-glass, yes! Great avocado toast with egg for breakfast. French bistro and terrific food! Bien. -Blue line - 30 second walk to the hotel. Excellent location. -3rd floor Lounge. Free snacks and York Peppermint Patties - one of my favorites. Caramel corn too, on par with Garrett's Popcorn, really! -Fitness center....because I ate three York peppermint patties....had everything I needed - not a big room yet up-to-date machines. -issue with room resolved right away. While working at night in my room, this buzzing sound kept going off every couple of minutes. Knew I could not sleep like that. Engineering came up ASAP. Determined it was a transformed attached to the bathroom light by the mirror. When I turned off the light, the noise stopped. room 1304 FYI. informed front desk so it could get fixed after I left. Just a perfect stay - highly recommend! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Average Stay

Jan 12th, 2020

Okay stay at Hyatt Centric Loop. Room was clean and comfortable with average (not luxurious) furnishings. View was very poor (looked directly into building next door under renovation). Check in experience was good with pleasant, efficient service. Not sure where the “centric” brand is within the Hyatt family but seemed well below Regency level. Ok for a business trip but would not return for leisure trip. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
