Old and out of date

Jul 20th, 2019

Staff great. Rooms old and out of date. Club very old with bad aircon. Dont recommend this hotel. Not much shopping. Bar on 32 nd floor has great view but no seating. Its located on wrong side of bund for most shopping and walking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Felt like home, but better

Jul 18th, 2019

I’m a young woman traveling alone so as you can imagine, safety is always at the forefront of my mind. This hotel is in a very convenient location and the staff became familiar with me. They welcomed me and consistently asked if I needed assistance with transportation or anything else. By the end of my trip, I realized that this hotel had quickly felt like home for me in Shanghai. I always felt refreshed coming back to my hotel room. I am very pleased with my experience at the Hyatt at the Bund and hope to stay again in the near future. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location - Location - Location - Construction Noise

Jul 18th, 2019

Went for a staycation and to sample a couple of restaurants with Bund views. Stayed in a king club on the 23rd floor, room 2328. We did hear the noise from the construction 23 floors down. I found it odd to have the club lounge 20 floors below the club level rooms. The view was outstanding, which is what we paid for. Nonetheless, we also paid for what we expected to be a fairly luxurious experience and instead realized that this is a huge hotel that feels more like a conference center than a weekend getaway spot. It just felt kind of cold. There's a lot of wear and tear to be seen, which is understandable given the volume of guests. Bed was moderately hard - not great. Pillows were truly some of the lamest I've had in a hotel in a long time. Bathroom privacy involves moving sliding walls to close in the bathroom sink area, which is basically in the middle of the room. Rooms are quite small. We tried The Vue restaurant one evening and were very disappointed in the food. I'll write a separate review for that. Needless to say, I do not recommend The Vue whether it's $20 a plate or $200, the view is not worth it. The club lounge was fine, usual breakfast items. Service was ok, definitely not exceptional. For a tourist looking for a great view and easy Bund access, this hotel cannot be beat, I do not recommend it for a romantic weekend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice View Great Hotel and very stylish rooms

Jul 17th, 2019

Nice Hotel with stylish and very comfortable view on the bund. But I had to pay almost 40% more than at the check out as was shown on the reservation. Another thing I did not know was that there is directly between in front of the hotel a very big construction site. So there was a lot of traffic and noise during the day and in the early morning as well TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Exceptional location and phenomenal breakfast

Jul 15th, 2019

The location was exceptional, and the views of the city and the Huangpu River were spectacular. The motel offered an upgrade that included breakfast, which is highly recommended. The property is a bit tired, and could use a face lift, and the area around the hotel was under construction, creating obstacles to walking around the area. However, if you were able to get into the neighborhoods, you would find them to be very friendly and charming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
