Rocky Mountain High Indeed

Apr 5th, 2020

This 36-floor hotel is one of the tallest in Denver. Our room on the 32nd floor overlooked the front of the Colorado Convention Center’s large blue bear sculpture, I See What You Mean, and had a view or the Rocky Mountains in the distance. The room is large with enough space for a side chair and ottoman and has a wide window. The bed is comfortable. The bathroom is a decent size. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which had a hot tofu option one morning, and had craft beer at the lobby bar. The lobby is huge with large ceilings and lots of seating in two different areas. You can buy Starbucks coffee in the lobby, and free fruit-flavored ice water is available. The hotel’s location is good. It’s two short blocks from a stop on the free 16th Street Mall bus. You pass the Denver Tourist Information Center on the way. It takes no more than 15 minutes to walk to the Denver Art Museum. In the other direction, it’s a 15-minute walk to Larimer Square. Beautiful Hotel / Walking Distance to Everything

Mar 22nd, 2020

Beautiful Hotel in Downtown Denver. Clean rooms with a short walk to 16th Street Mall and many attractions. We stayed here at the end our 10 day road trip through Colorado. Perfect place to stay to put us in a central location. Highly Recommended TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not worthy of "Regency" name

Arguably the worst Hyatt experience I've had since coming over from Marriott. With COVID-19 decimating reservations, you'd think that they'd be happy to see my sons and I (refugees from Vail). Valet (Michael) and Bellman were awesome. Sultan checked me in and she was not at all helpful. Short tempered - even when she was told that this was a memorial trip for my son who died last year. she eventually pulled it together. I've stayed at THIS hotel before - recently even - and had another reservation for two weeks from now (will be cancelling). Walking down the hall to my room, we passed two housekeeping crews. We also noticed room service items on the floor outside a door. In an out over the next 16 hours, the room service items remained in the hall. Disgusting. Ignored by everyone - all cleaning staff. I even told the front desk. Ignored. Going into the room, it was tired. Just tired and old. The nightstand had a lot of water damage, rug was worn. I called the front desk to ask for a suite upgrade (I was happy to pay) - I was told that none were available even though occupancy was only 10% that night. In the bathroom - the tub wasn't clean - someone else's hair was in there. Ugggg. Second time in 6 months this has happened at a Hyatt. First time was in November in Madison, WI. But, seriously, this was a Hyatt Regency. When I checked out the next morning, I was so over this particular hotel, that when the front desk clerk asked me if I wanted to speak to the manager, I was just tired of trying to make the effort - but I've since changed my mind. I paid $300 for two rooms at this hotel for a trip that was SUPER important to my sons and I - and we were all disappointed. Crushed, really. I picked THIS specific hotel because I trusted Hyatt. I could have chosen Tru by Hilton, Aloft by Marriott, or Le Meridian across the street. I made a poor choice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, convenient location.

Mar 13th, 2020

Beautiful hotel, staff is friendly and happy, convenient location within walking distance of all of the venues. The room was very clean. The only thing I would have done different is included the breakfast with my booking- instead we ordered in the hotel restaurant and we waited for a long time at our table for food/drinks. We would/will still stay again because overall it was a great experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice hotel, didn’t like being overcharged because of being at a convention

Mar 10th, 2020

I stayed at this hotel many times, I like it just fine. I like the fitness area. You need keys to go up the elevators, which makes sense in this day and age. The only thing I don’t like is that they increase the rates quite a bit during a convention/tournament by quite a lot. That just leaves a bad taste in your mouth to pay hundreds and hundreds more just because you ‘have’to be there TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
