Good location and lovely view of the Queen Mary

Sep 17th, 2019

Hotel was very nice, and room was spacious and clean. Beware on check out that you are not charged for water from the room even if you haven't had it. Suggestion to hotel is to provide free water in the rooms for all paying guests. Having said that the location was good with lovely view across to the Queen Mary. The hotel is mainly used for guests who are attending conferences, so always busy with people coming and going. Overall we had a relaxing week. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

If possible, book a room ending in 01

Sep 16th, 2019

Lots of reviews on here showing what a great hotel this is: super convenient location, comfy rooms, courteous staff, etc. I lucked out in getting room 501. So I imagine 601-1401 are in the same spot. Completely at the end of the hallway farthest from the elevator, only one room neighbor and no one across the hall because it's the window overlooking the bay and the corner room's view overlooks the little lake and the harbor. Perfect if you're in town for a convention (next door) and the pool, amenities are nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awful stay

Sep 16th, 2019

Wet carpet, moved rooms, 2nd room smelled like mildew/musty. Went to ask them to spray the room and got attitude and was told they didn't have another room to move me to - I didn't ask to be moved the 1st time or AGAIN.................AC made noise all night and didn't maintain temperature. Horrible experience, and bad customer service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disappointed for the Last Time

Sep 15th, 2019

For the second time in a row we were disappointed by our experience at the Hyatt Regency Long Beach. Our family has grown so we reserved adjoining rooms in the hotel. When we walked into the room there was a large, and loud, air filter running, the carpet was damp, and it smelled strongly like carpet shampoo. I called the front desk and they explained that something had happened with the previous room occupant, and they would remove the air filter. It was only when I explained that my asthmatic daughter could not be in a room that had just been cleaned with their carpet cleaner that the hotel was willing to move our room. Once we had gone back to the front desk with all of our luggage, and then went to the new room, we found that they still had the foam insert installed between the adjoining rooms, and had to ask to have it removed. The hotel is going through a renovation, and changing the door locks is part of the process. I found out on the third night in the hotel that they had not replaced our room lock. Another guest, probably inebriated, pushed their way into our room at about 10:30pm when our children were asleep. Luckily I used the latch on the door so he couldn't get all the way in, but I spent the rest of the night sleepless hoping no one else would try to enter the room. Hotel security confirmed the next day that it was another guest who had entered thinking it was their room, but offered no explanation why the door had not locked. For our last stay the hotel did not have our room ready until 8pm and the restaurant was unable to keep up with simple orders. I really like this location, but I do not want to stay in a hotel that has trouble with basic services like check in and clean rooms, and where I do not feel safe. Our next reservation is now cancelled and my family is staying somewhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location to see all the sights in Long Beach

Sep 13th, 2019

A little pricey. We booked through expedia and thought we had booked a king bed but upon check in told we had 2 doubles. They didn't have a room available with a king that had the upgrade we paid for of a harbor view. They weren't very helpful other than just telling us they didn't have a king with a harbor view available, so we kept the room we were assigned as it did have the harbor view. Our room was large with a great view. The beds were not very comfortable or maybe it was the pillows but didn't sleep well the 2 nights spent there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
