Great location, wonderful service

Jun 26th, 2019

I had read reviews of this Doubletree ahead of our arrival, so I was aware that this hotel has an unconventional layout. It can be confusing at first, but after a couple of times it was easy to figure out which elevator bank we needed when. And our kids found this abundance of elevators very entertaining. Check-in was relatively smooth. We were traveling as a family of five, and I noticed that most other people checking in seemed to be there in a business role. However, the person who checked us in was very helpful in securing a room that worked for our family. My husband is Hilton Diamond, and we had used points to reserve a standard two queen bed room, while also requesting a rollaway bed for our three year old. At check-in we were informed that a rollaway would not fit in the room we had reserved. (I wish they would note this on the room description as I had no way of knowing this.) Luckily, a 1 room king bed suite was available. This room has a king bed, pull-out sofa, and plenty of room for a rollaway bed - and as a bonus an extra half bath! They upgraded us to this room, and we found it to be very spacious, comfortable, and clean. Our suite did face the live music venue below, which was interesting to see at night. Since we were on a floor near the top of the hotel, we could only hear the bass from the music each night, and it did not bother our sleep. We enjoyed the on-site breakfast each morning of our three night stay. The restaurant staff greeted us warmly and helped make sure we had everything we needed for our kids - such a nice gesture in a business oriented hotel. The variety offered at the breakfast is wonderful, and the food was all delicious. As for the executive lounge, this hotel does allow children access as long as parents are present. We used this perk a couple of evenings and found the snacks and drinks provided to be generous and tasty. Having access to the shopping mall was also a great plus to this hotel. On our first night in town, everyone was hungry and we weren't sure where to go, so the food court in the mall was a lifesaver. Not what we had in mind for our first dinner in Montreal, but it was a big help with everyone's blood sugar dropping. We also used this convenient access for exploring the underground city during a rainy afternoon one day. That access is very handy, even in the summer. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to someone wanting a central location in Montreal. The access to many attractions can't be beat. If you are ok with a large hotel layout, this is a great choice in downtown. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Enjoyed my stay

Jun 25th, 2019

The hotel cleanliness is amazing, comforts of the beds above expectations. Some issues with the initial check in where their computer system was down for the weekend and I have yet to receive my receipt causing me to have to call to receive it. Although very small thing the hotel highly advertises the cookie or Apple or a small token and this was not offered to me. The location is fabulous with everything around you at your disposal whether it be a grocery store shopping entertaining the metro for travelling around the area of Montreal just perfect I do recommend this hotel for many of you that may visit our beautiful Montreal TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

great location and treats

unremarkable interior design but great location, staff and food! Takes time to check in and out due to only two persons at the desk but the warm cookies and laser engraved apples made it OK! ALL staff always incredibly friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Doubletree Short Stay

Jun 24th, 2019

It's a great place to stay, and located very centrally in downtown Montreal. Public transport is easily accessible, and you can often walk to locations nearby. The hotel is connected to a mall, so there is quick access to amenities, shopping and food as the need arises. Calling the front desk for help and arrangements were quickly sorted out, even with technological difficulties experienced by the hotel system. One thing though, is that the hotel can be a puzzle to navigate. Late arrival hours meant that I had to ask more than a few people to find the reception desk from the parking lot entrance, and the layout of the building tends to wend and wind. The construction outside obscures the signs too, so google maps was only of limited use - it will tell you where everything is, but not the exact way to get into the physical building. It was unfortunate that my visit coincided with a music festival, since the noise can be heard from inside the hotel, though not in the room I was staying in, fortunately. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
